Wow. I test drove one of those brand spanking new. I really loved it, but it was more than I wanted to spend at the time.
I really wanted to buy one of those back in 1988, but there were approximately none available used. I ended up (reluctantly) buying a 1989 Civic Si sight unseen and then waiting several weeks for it to come in.
I kept that one 12 years and 300,000 miles. Best automotive move I've ever made.
Yeah, as cute as that 86 is, those cars were kind of hard to live with in the long haul. The 89's were a huge improvement in every way except weight.

Looks rusty, and who the hell knows what "needs help" means?

Just saying it's probably a fair price, not a "too good to be true" price.
that photo looks like it's from 1991. And i don't belief that OEM wheel covers of that vintage would be in such good condition or that deer whistles would be on such a clean car in 2013. I'm calling it a fake, someone please prove me wrong, get it and build something awesome (and make sure that it never sees roadsalt or ice pretreatment)
You guys are weird. I sold one in better condition than that (rusty, but not visible) running perfectly, new t-belt & water pump with requisite head work, 127k for $1k a couple years ago...with PERFECT wheel covers
Perhaps I should buy a roll-back and start "flipping" cars up north.
