I've got a 91 miata, would make a good track car or parts car. Needs work, but runs well.
Good:
189k miles. clean title. manual. Late 91 (Long nose crank). vLSD (I think?). Recent maintenance: replaced CAS o-ring, plugs, wires, magnaflow cat, battery. New brakes: Brembo rotors and hawk hp+ pads, and remanufactured rear calipers (less than 50 miles). Runs great
Bad:
No interior. Rocker rust on driver's side. No soft top, but i've got the frame. Rough front bumper & driver's fender. Was smacked in the rear, pretty low speed, but the sheet metal was banged up a bit. I did my best to straighten it out, and got a new rear bumper. Missing some odds and ends (see pics)
Sold!
If you're interested in trades I'll trade you my 280z which is apart but mostly complete =]
This is last chance before I dive into it and start pouring thousands into it to make a car worth hundreds
I can be pretty flexible, and I'd consider trades. But I'd prefer something running & driving, or close to it.
So I'm guessing that's not your 280z?
depends on your definition of "close" to running and driving =]
just to get it on the road it needs the trans reinstalled, a battery, a diff, cross member, and a fuel cell or gas tank +a pump that'll work with the carbs.
then when you fire it up it'll smoke because it needs carb work. lol
and it needs alot of crap I pulled out, reinstalled.
I'll pass on the 280z, thanks though.

not a problem, good luck with the sale, it's a good deal
All it needs is a hardtop, then I would have my SM for the street!
If you'all send sponsor money or if I can start selling candy bars like the baseball teams; I will use my free SWA flight and fly to DC and drive this back to Chicago and write an article on how much fun it was.
Legally I need a horn, wipers, and a mirror; but didn't see anything about a speedometer.
I can trade 3 well worn black 240z seats from my basement for 1 any shape Miata seat (with track).
I would seriously discourage you from driving it that far. Not a good idea with all the missing bits. Also, the tires are old, and some "Beijing" brand. (Just realized I didn't put that in the original post, sorry about that). I drove it home originally with this set. And you'd probably be okay with a short/local trip, but I wouldn't go THAT far.
If someone is local, I'd gladly work out some sort of delivery. Up to say 50 miles or so. I'd just ask that you reimburse me for the uhaul trailer rental ($50-70?).

That would make the story interesting......

Forgot that I have a Cobra Monaco I can offer too. Its older, but was hardly used, basically new-old-stock. Was going to ask $75 for that, but make me an offer!
I'd really love to see someone turn this into a Chump/Lemons car.
