Those cars almost always have bad engines. The good part is, swapping in a 89+ 2.5 is easy, and they seem to hold up a lot better.
Just wrist pin knock. most 2.2/2.5's have them due to the stupid floating pins they used (they are easier to install, they do not enhance performance) Drive it another 50K with the pin knocking and deal with a little noise.
Just looking at those interior photos made my stomach turn. I don't think that I've ever been inside an 80's era Chrysler that didn't reek of cigarettes and Vanillaroma air fresheners.
