Hi folks. So as some may know I recently acquired a 1987 535is that I hoped to bring back from the brink, but I think this car may be more of a parts car for someone. It has a lot of great parts, and it does run and drive (I registered it), but it needs pretty much everything to get it road worthy and with a new job that requires far trips out to PA once a week, I'm starting to shop for a newer E46 that's a bit more reliable.
If you were inclined to get it up to snuff, it needs brakes, exhaust, suspension, and a number of cosmetic things. The paint is heavily oxidized but I don't see any rust. The car is on style 9 rims from an 850 and are in great shape, the tires are mismatched dry rotted disasters. Like I said, it'll start right up and drive, but um, probably not the safest till things are repaired. I don't have the time now that I have this job, and need a slightly newer, less taken apart BMW, to commute in.
The interior is full power sports seats which all work but will need reupholstering. M tech 1 steering wheel, windows all work except for 1, sunroof still works, carpet is actually decent. Dash is cracked. No radio. All gauges work, and cluster is new, per last owners, about 7,500 miles ago.
If interested, I can email photos and ill try to get a few up here. Again, this is more of a parts car. If you want to try to restore it, up to you. If you want to do that, the new NY title should arrive in a few weeks and I can send it out to you. Otherwise, if you're taking this as a parts car, then you probably don't care.
