Just posting for kicks as I don't think there are too many GRM's in rural Nebraska. But anyway here is my craigslist ad.
http://omaha.craigslist.org/cto/3409663454.html
1991 Volvo 740 Turbo wagon for sale. Has the 2.3L turbo 4 cylinder engine with 238,000 miles and the M46 manual transmission. I am the third owner since Feb of 2009, Since then it has accumulated 15k miles. I purchased it as a project but have recently lost interest. While in my ownership I have replaced or upgraded the following...
-New Bilstein HD shocks and struts in the winter of 2010 along with replacing worn suspension bushings with polyurethane bits and replacing worn out ball joints.
-Replaced timing belt and tensioner at approx. 230,000 miles.
-Replaced Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor last winter
-New rotors and pads winter of 2011.
-17" wheels and tires purchased used in 2010 to replace stock 16" wheels with old tires.
-Drained and replaced transmission fluid in winter 2010
-Regular oil changes (currently is in need of a change)
Fun car to drive. The upgraded shocks along with the poly bushings make for a great handling car. The steering is very direct and tight, very little play in the wheel. Turbocharged engine provides plenty of power. Surprisingly, there is a healthy aftermarket for this car so performance and replacement parts are plentiful and cheap. The internet is full of information on these cars so check out www.turbobricks.com and www.IPDusa.com for helpful information and parts.
Clear title in hand. Cash only. Email for any further questions. Enjoy!
I would assume so... He says the link is to "his" CL ad. But it's Nebraska, so who knows???
I emailed anyway. The car has a lot of miles, but looks sweet. A 302 would look nice under that bonnet.
wish mine had a manual gearbox doh :(...
good luck on the sale... I love mine ('91 945ti) love it even more with this cold snap we've had :)
Man. If it weren't 900+ miles away.
It looks pretty clean, how's the rust?
Yea the car is mine. Sperlo, you should have mail unless I screwed something up (using yahoo mail on an iPad is infuriating.) It has been a fun car, and the handling is great. The only thing I would add are some IPD sways. No rust anywhere that I can think of.
donalson has a good point, the heaters in these things will roast you out!

hello fellow cornhusker
Yea, I forgot I'm not the only Husker on this board. If I'm not mistaken, you post on starcityracing as well. I think I read about your 5.4 swap into a P71 on there.
Are ya interested in a turbo brick???

haha I was talking more about the power from the cold...
but yes heated seats and the heater in them are awesome... lol
Bumpity...
Would it help the sale if I took a video of me doing a burnout with it?

Does the A/C blow cold?
No, it blows warm air. The compressor is shot. The A/C units in most of these bricks seem to have issues. I never looked in to fixing it and just took the belt of the compressor.
Still available. Wife is getting sick of looking at it, so my bottom dollar is getting lower...
Why must you tempt me so??? I have no money though...
You mentioned in your 1st post that you bought it as a project but have lost interest. Other than the A/C, what other problems are there?

I just have hit a tipping point with the car. I finally am in a position to put some real money into upgrades but I can't see myself enjoying the end result anymore.
There are no major problems with the car that would prevent someone from driving it away. Although, the right rear brake caliper has stuck a couple of times in the past, and can eat through pads pretty quickly. I suspect that it may need to be rebuilt, as this is common problem with these cars.
Again, this is a great car but I would like to move on to a new project, and my wife would also like to get rid of it (she never liked it.)
