1971 Jensen Healey Interceptor 383 project or parts car - BEST OFFER! - $1900 (Douglassville, PA) Date: 2012-10-09, 6:45PM EDT Reply to: see below

1971 Jensen Healey Interceptor Coupe. Rare English-Italian-American hybrid: Italian design with American muscle built in England. Originally silver-blue, now primer grey. Black leather interior. Chrysler 383 with 4-barrel, TorqueFlite automatic. Mostly complete but in rough shape. Great for partscar or ambitious restoration. NOT running. Clear title. Come take a look and make an offer. The rear glass alone is worth 2x his asking price, IIRC.

I really want that. I've always wanted a Jensen Interceptor.

While the first thought is an LS1 swap. I would keep it in the Chrysler family.

The idea train is arriving on Track 3..........

Think 5.7-6.4 3rd gen Hemi.

I am so glad my plate is more than full or I'd have to take a look at it.

That was my thought. A 5.7 has more than enough gusto to make that haul ass.

This is the next town over from me, if anyone wants me to look at it, though that might be dangerous, as this would be an amazing lemons car...yet I have to keep telling myself "I will not build another lemons car this year, I will not build another lemons car this year...."

"Rare English- Italian- American hybrid" eh? Wonder if that means it leaks twice as much oil ;)

I'm friends with Shaun the seller. He's got quite a collection, mostly project cars but he's realizing the folly of that and getting some nice survivors now. Click the link Shaun's page and then go to FiatLancia and you can see all of his stuff. I drove the '59 Lancia Flaminia (with non-working brakes) for his wedding several years ago. I'm particularly fond of his Bitter SC's. His warehouse has to be seen to be believed (think, that Portugese car barn found several years ago).

I have a bit of room at the Atomic Hairball Research and Development Center, if you need some free indoor storage for the winter... You know, if (once) you buy it.

i was going to post but didnt think anyone would believe it. you have to see his place to believe it. and small world back in the 80's i use to do a lot of business with lancia parts consortium in pittsburgh and spoke to Shaun many times back then about parts. the jenson could be saved its just more of a project than i want same as the 914

Ditto. Very tempting, but I have no room for such a project. While a modern hemi sounds enticing, the oe big block is such a solid engine it would be hard to justify swapping it out. One driving reason would be to swap in a manual or a matching modern automatic. For a car like this (GT cruiser more than a sports car) an automatic has its place.
