I'm starting to part out my wrecked '90 and I'd like to get rid of the motor/trans/diff first, before I start with all the little fiddly stuff. It's got less than 60K miles on it (56K, I think?) and is still in the car. Local pickup only on the engine/trans.

Trans is good, if a bit notchy from 1-2. Engine is fantastic, strong and burns no oil. I did its first timing belt/wp job 2K miles ago and was meticulous about the crank bolt. I don't know whether or not it's the VLSD (I'll call Mazda and check later). The car had a pretty good life up until it got side swiped at about 20mph. It still ran and drove great afterwards and it didn't touch the rear wheel itself.

No idea what this stuff is worth, just what people ask for it on CL. Let's call the engine $500, the trans $200 and the diff $150 or best. Discount for the package deal or trades for performance parts welcome.

Still trying to track down an engine hoist I can borrow (do not want one permanently taking up room). $50 off and free beer if you want to come with a collapsable hoist and help me yank it! I've already got most stuff out of the way so it should be pretty quick.

Is the subframe damaged much?

I assume CG got to the engine first.

Oh, and if you want to save $50, I've got a lift you can borrow. In A2 to beat.
