Complete car, negotiable price. New Battery, new alternator, new exhaust, 8valve motor.
Selling for a friend, don't know much about the car, but I'm told it runs, just runs rough - mechanic said the mass air flow needs cleaned or replaced.
$1,000 with steel rims, $1,250 with Momo's and brand new tires.
Clean Title in hand.
Price is negotiable - Just make an offer.

trying NOT to buy this one...
$1K or $1,200? What is wrong with this "picture"? (Aside from my thinking I should be on my way to Atlanta....but I haven't left yet?)
I wonder if this falls under that "....does mileage REALLY matter?" thread?
No freaking way! Great car. Wish it was 2k miles closer.
What is wrong is that it is an 8v motor, but that's easily fixable.
because it is a Digi2 VW. The Coolant Temp Sensor is the cause of 90% of all injection issues on them. From rough running, won't start, hard hot starts, crap mileage....ect. Keep a new spare in the glove box and enjoy trouble free motoring.
Does my Fiance's 89 Cabriolet have this same Digi2? I might try this just to see if it cures some of our issues!?
Edit: the GTi dropped from $1000/1200 to $800/1000!

It says price is negotiable, just offer $800 for the car with the Momo wheels.
I was thinking $500 without!
Price now $500, he lost the only key and the doors no longer have handles.
door handles on those are easy to swap, takes about 1 minute. lol I have never seen an 8v that runs right even with a brand new coolant temp sensor though. They are fun to drive if they are in good shape, but I have never seen another car that is so cheaply built and annoying to work on. Either way if you like them a $500 big bumper GTI is a deal that is soon going to be a thing of the past. Nice 16vs are already getting into the $15k range.
So, nice 16V VWs are heading for $15K ??? I've got one with only 57K on the clock. That thought starts my day on an up note! Now I'll go look at my stock portfolio before I get too high.
The nicest I have seen was advertised for $16.5k, so idk if it sold, but yes.
Most nice 16v's I've seen are in the $6k range. I've never seen one for $15k. If I do I'm gonna wanna die, as that's more than I bought my '91 2 liter 16v GTI for NEW back in '92.
If I knew I could've sold it for more than I paid for it, I never would've sold it in '99! By now it would've had 250k miles on it though...
No chance that's still for sale?
The craigslist post is gone, and considering it doesn't belong to anyone here, it almost certainly is...
