so... my diff exploded: and sitting on the ground was a ring gear tooth, part of teh case, and all of it's fluid.
I need a new one.
I have found an open 1.6 diff, for $75, but I kinda want something My supercharged miata would not just destroy....
anyone have anything (GRM PRICED) that they would sell me? I need to keep autoxing.. I am in central PS, and Philly, if it helps.
I have a 1.6L VLSD in a smooth case. In MI though. Pay shipping and it is yours. I need it out of my basement since I'm moving.
EDIT: With stub shafts.
You'll need the stub shafts as well, they're different between open and VLSD on the 1.6.
But for a real fix, you need a 1.8 diff/halfshafts/driveshaft/housing.

I have a complete 1.8 non LSD rear end swap available, including driveshaft, axles, rear uprights, etc. I bought a complete swap for the limited slip to replace the open diff on my Locost project, so I now have the Locost's 56k mile open diff, plus all the rest of the swap that I don't need.
How about $200? I'm in Birdsboro PA, just east of Reading. I'll be in the York area for a bit in Saturday if that is of any help to you.
My email is abbottcd at the gmails.

Thanks sonic, but I went the super cheap route and bought CGlocker's. IF (or perhaps when) it blows up, I will hit you up. (I can always slap a different guts in the 1.8)
For $200, you'd be nuts not to take that - especially if it's a 4.10. Much nicer on a car with some power.

It is a 4.10, out of a 96. If you change your mind, let me know.

Oh... Maybe I SHOULD take it.
I do have the flex this week, and some cash... And I can always slap some lsd action inside it.....
