I certainly hope someone doesnt part it out. that is only the second one i have ever seen for sale in the usa.
That's an attractive car, but something seems fishy with that sale, the seller said that it ran well before storage but you can't start it up at all now? Noting is more expensive than a cheap BL car.
Wow, rare to find one of those with a 5-speed, even in their native land.
Super interesting, but not particularly collectible.
Love the "...asses the condition". I BELIEVE they mean assess the condition, but being a British built car?
Runner-up for strange statement, "....the cars didn't sell all that well due to a tie-up with Mercedes-Benz and Porsche", or words to that effect. The REAL reason why these cars didn't sell in the U.S. is the same reason they weren't HUGE sellers in the U.K.: VERY STRANGE styling and a dealer network that gave no thought to customer service in the U.S. AND the U.K.
I've owned 2 British built cars, one bought when it was LESS than 2 years. The 1972 was about as well put together as the 15 year old 1960 that eventually replaced it. I like the cars, the character, and even the styling (sometimes), but spending more than a few hundred dollars on a car/brand about as popular as the Rover SD-1 was? Nah.
