Hmm, only 8.5 hours from me...if only I had time to fly out there.

Damn, I knew I shouldn't have looked at this...

I'm not far from that, most likely, if somebody wants me to take a look. Drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.

I called the guy and left a message explaining the situation, but haven't heard back yet. I said I had a friend named Evan from out of town who was really interested and that I wanted to check the car out since I am local. You may want to give him a call at the number listed so he doesn't think I'm just a crank tirekicker. I'll keep you posted - good luck!

Any SAAB gurus that can tell me what to look for in specific? Thanks.

I'm by no means a guru, but I do have the same car. Aside from rust and the usual stuff, check for funny gearbox noises - excessive whining and/or popping out of gear. See if it blows smoke under hard throttle (possible turbo issues), and how it responds under boost, (boost gauge 'ought to pull all the way to the red.)

Also, when really hot, it would be normal for the temp gauge to read about 3/4 before the fan kicks in and sends it back to 1/2 way.

Philosophical question: is any car with 336,000 miles, even one that runs flawlessly, "dependable?" Not that such an idea as dependability should bother anyone here, of course.
