^^ Viggens are pretty sweet, but 9k Aero's are clearly more awesome
That looks like one of the 1999 ones. They only came in that blue and the 3 door body.
MA$$ - Sludge in the engine is the biggie. If you go look at it take a wire coat hanger, stick in down the oil fill tube and scrape it on the bottom on the oil pan. If you get any goop walk away.
They are fairly rare and I think if a SAAB is going to be worth some money later in life it will be that one.
So this was re-listed Tuesday & I sent another email. Going to look at it on Saturday. Part of me hopes that I don't end up wanting it since I should be focused on purchasing a home. But being that I'm selling my Starion it just wouldn't feel right with only 1 vehicle.
You can actually do a lot with them, too. ECU tuning is DIY-able, and there is a good aftermarket.
Check out genuinesaab.com to see some of the stuff you can get. Nick Taliaferro, the guy who runs the joint, has built a few Saabs to 400HP or so!
I have a 9000 and would much rather have a Viggen.
also they are know for burning pistons due to funny a/f mixture from bad MAF sensors. So if you stomp on it and it has pinging I would pass.

I had one of their 3 in DPs on my old 9-3 and it was gorgeous.
Went to look at this car this morning. While it was a steal for $2,500 I had to pass. It did need a good amount of cosmetic work (if you care, didn't phase me). However with an unknown reason for a check engine light (forgot the scanner), what sounded like a water pump noise, possible struts, & some minor rot under the passenger floor & spare tire well I had to decline since I don't feel like doing that much work.
The car drove really well & felt very strong. If I had time & a garage I would have picked it up. I will definitely add one to my list of must owns.
