I grew up in Pa. and even spent a few months in Pittsburgh but since I haven't lived there in years...why did I go looking and find something like this? You almost never see these Salons anymore, and I wish I lived closer as this would be mine, instead of my posting it here.

The people who lived across the street from me when I was a kid had one. I'm not a fan, but you're right- I haven't seen one in ages.

this is awesome and ugly and i am scared that i like it.
I always thought these were an "interesting" alternative to the normal 4 door sedans that Pontiac and Chevy offered in the late '70s. Why GM gave this body style to Buick, as well as Olds is a bit of a mystery.
If I could find one, I'd love to have this as a Buick ( tho only for it's rarity) in black, with a dark blue or a dark grey interior....something that reminds you of Buicks between WW I and WW II. Barring that, a black Olds with a lipstick red interior.

I had a friend in high school who had one of these, but a coupe, with a 4 speed. It had 442 graphics. Oddly cool.
I have a friend with a 442 in that body style. It's a heinous creation.
That plus $10,000 eBay Duramax engine = cool $5000.00 car ;)
My uncle used to have one, and I remember him hating the thing. I think his had the 260 V8 in it. They did make a 2 door version, and those are kinda cool, in a weird 70's sort of way.
They did make a 442 version as well. These are cooler!
Check this one out, everything important that you need to know is right on the side! And it has flares!!!
They also made a Buick version, with a turbo!!!!
My aunt had a sedan in grandma flavor, I always thought it'd make a great sleeper.

Those of you who are young and curious now know where the ugly Audi A7 came from.
nile13:
I started a thread on here a month or two ago asking if Audi was "doing a BMW 5 GT", implying that I thought (and perhaps others did, too?) that the Audi was going to be as big a bust, at least style-wise, as the BMW. NO ONE thought the Audi ugly, all thought the BMW ugly/pointless.
I actually didn't think the BMW was that bad, and wanted to know if it was a case of hating on an unusual concept by BMW...I got my answer. The BMW? Most consider it ugly, the same concept by Audi? Not so bad. I can't quite believe the BMW draws so much grief JUST because in the U.S. it's a substitute for a 5 series Touring.
I had forgotten about the 2 door fastback version of these cars, and the 4-4-2 in particular. Wonder which is/was? the more rare....the 4-4-2 or the T-Type?
Wow, I drove one of those senior year of high school and freshman year of college. The 260 in it was reliable, but it was a boat anchor. Rated at 110 HP, I think. It was kind of annoying that the rear windows didn't roll down, especially since the A/C was broken.
$1000 will take best offer but no low-balling. That's a pretty fine line to dance right there.
