I bought this for a project but I am going a different route. I bought it from a guy that said it ran when he pulled it and he planned to put it in his 240. I have the engine, auto trans, intercooler, radiator, IC piping, a couple dme, and a random pile of 240 parts.
I am unsure of the miles but the guy I got it from said it had around 140k.

seriously dude, first the 850 now a b230ft? I have a 740 turbo wagon with a wicked piston slap and have been looking for an engine for awhile now. do you have any idea what year engine this is? does it have the bigger rods and oil squirters? maybe i should just drive up there and bring them both home

I am not sure which year it came out of. It was from a 760. Is there a way to tell from any markings on the engine?
there are markings on the head (and block)... on the head it's on the back exhaust side of the head
you can sorta kinda see it on the left in this pic
yours has the 90+ exhaust manifold... and the weird 12b turbo... it probably has the big 13mm rods (a good thing) but you can't be sure without pulling the pan.
oh I also see that that engine is running LH2.4 so the timing trigger is on the flywheel... being a turbo that's def going to be a 90+ engine...
if someone from the GRM buys it make sure and do the accumulator mod to the trans while it's out... easy to do and will keep your trans living much longer under abusive use
