Slefain,
Thanks for the link above. I have been quiet about it around here but just last month I became half owner in a 1954 custom design and build 22 foot, hardtop wooden power boat. Though located on Lake Erie, it looks like a Cape Cod fishing vessel.
Cedar plank hull and Mohogany topsides. My co owner is currently the owner of a restored, running and seaworthy wooden 18ft Lyman. He has done this before (I have not, at least with wood.)
The motor is out of it and in need of a full rebuild. We have it in an indoor workshop and plan to have it sea-ready in May.
If you need boat carpet, let me know, I manufacture boat carpet & indoor outdoor carpet. Always willing to trade carpet for car parts
Good to know about the carpet.
I find it funny that Europa is referenced becasue I once help a friend (different friend) trailer an Europa into his garage. About 3 years later I helped him trailer it out of his garage (for less money then what it went in for and in more parts than it arrived.)
^^^^^^
I get it.
We currently need to name the boat. My buddy and co-owner (notice I did not say "partner that I share wood with"), who currently has a wood boat tells me that a gathering of wood boat owners is just one giant homage to Penis. Common names are Big Wood, Stiff Wood, Wet Wood, you get the idea. I think we will try for something more creative.
