It's a Standard model hatchback with a 4-speed manual and a 1.5 rated at 70hp when new. Yeah. It's a screamer. It even beat a Ford Fiesta on a highway run once. You'll be turning heads everywhere you go, and ahhh, nevermind. This ain't Craigslist. You know what the deal with this car is, what it's capable of and what it ain't. Caveat emptor and all that.
Basically, when I put it in gear and apply the throttle it emits a horrible grinding noise and doesn't go anywhere. Idles fine and all that. I guess the transmission needs to be taken apart or replaced. Personally, I needed a working car immediately, so I said berkeley it.
And there it sat. It's been at the bottom of my driveway on jackstands since last june. Hasn't been washed or anything. It's got 173k on the odometer. It'll probably need a new windshield as well.
Don't mind the missing wheels in the pics. I had pulled the driveshafts out to see if I could find the problem. Said driveshafts will be included in the purchase price.
I suppose it's a ripe candidate for an engine swap or whatever you want to do with it. I was rather fond of it, so anyone who's going to give it a good home will get preferential treatment.
Just so we're clear, the car is at the bottom of an inclined gravel driveway. It's going to need to be towed out, unless you want to fix it right there. I have no problem with that.
The front bumper has gotten more saggy and lopsided since it's been sitting.
A branch fell on the hood. Needs a new one. Or keep it for that junkyard rat look that seems to be gaining popularity with all the cool kids.
Side view. As you can see, the driveshafts have been removed.
Other side. Couldn't get a good picture because the neighbor's van was in the way. There's some denting along the door and behind it.
That bumper has had that dried up putty stuff on it since before I bought the car. I always intended to replace the bumpers, but if you haven't figured this out by now, I'm kind of lazy.
My interior is still in excellent shape, if I do say so myself.
Vinyl seats are a bit cracked though.
It's got some typical Honda cancer. I'm not making any claims as to the extent because I'm not sure. It really doesn't look too bad though.
The engine bay. Engine had been burning a bit of oil, just fyi. Still ran just fine.
If you have any other questions, or you want pics of something specific, (Involving the car, unless you're willing to pay top dollar) please let me know.
