I have a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder, 1994 V6 2WD 4door auto that no longer has reverse. The truck has lots of miles on it, but I have to admit I really like this thing. It does not have any rust, anywhere.

The AC works, really well given the heat in SOCal. I freshened the suspension: ball joints, brakes, bearings, bilsteins, water pump, radiator and the cam belt.

So now, it wants a transmission. An automatic transmission. The labor is 8 hours. The 2WD front suspension is the challenge, has to do with the torsion bars being in the way. So what if...

I really want to find a complete truck to swap the required parts. My hope is to find a source that we in California call a parts car that does not pass smog. Everywhere else these are call trucks. Non running because the cam belt has snapped will also work.

And yes, while the swap is in process I can replace the exhaust manifold studs. Just part of owning these things.

Thanks.

I had a clutch done of a 2wd truck and it was no problem. Cost $350 total, but was a while back. I don't think the torsion bars were in the way. Do not know about autos though. I do know that the 4wds are a bitch.

I still seem to not be reading very well. Are you wanting to do a 5 speed swap?

Yes, trying to find a source for a 5 speed donor.
