As a car nut I've become the go-to guy for my group of friends. As such I've been charged with buying a car and delivering it to Boston Mass. It needs to be-
-Automatic
-FWD
-fuel injected
-not rotted!
-capable of getting from wherever it is to Boston with minimal work, i.e. no non-runners
-capable of passing inspection/emisions without needing a restoration
-cost no more than $1200
A tall order I know but CL and eBay have failed me as all the 5 speeds keep popping up. Plenty of perfect carbed cars too but she'd never get it started in the winter and knows less than nothing about cars. A sixer of good Louisville beer for a lead that pans out

That Regal belongs to a neighbor. I wouldn't drive it 5 feet, let alone to Boston. Old caddys were off the list due to lots of crap to break expensively but I may have to widen my search. Good call on the Kia but even if they come down on price if it needs more than an oil change I'm over budget. Ideally I'd like to find a retiree owned K-car or J-body thats spent lots of time in a garage. Found a 79k 4 door LeBaron last week but it was $700 overpriced-was damn near new though. Thanks!
Is this FWD?

I've got a '96 Escort 1.9l auto 2dr hatchback I'll take $1200 for. It's got 113k miles, and runs and drives fine. The only problems are the crappy plastic bumpers are cracked, and there is a hardly noticable crack in the windshield. It's down along the very bottom, so you really can't see it while driving, but if the inspection is strict it may need to be addressed.
Check in my rides to see the right rear corner of the car!
No rust? Escort is #1 on the list but most have holes here. Bumpers are an easy swap and she can have the windscreen done later. We may have a winner!
No rust, except for one little spot on the bottom of the driver's fender. That fender looks to have been replaced at one time, so I'd say that rust is probably due to the repair, and not indicative of the rest of the car. I'll send pics when I get home!
1989 Honduh Civic LX. 1.5/auto. 4 new tires. NO rust (Georgia). Decent exterior, decent interior. Everything works (actually, I haven't checked the A/C yet). New fuel pump and cylinder head, timing belt, water pump, yadda, yadda. 23X,XXX miles IIRC.
$1000
I can pick you up at the Atlanta airport (look for airtran flights).

Pending on the 'scort. I have friends in ATL that I'd have take a look/store it if I go for it. You know where R-speed is?
Bought the Escort. Bought a matching rust free fender 5 hours later for $30. If I find too much wrong on the lift tomorrow I'll slap the fender on and sell it but I think its a keeper. Thanks to 16vCorey for delivering the car. Thanks to all others who tried to help. If this car falls through I'll start a new thread. I love this place
Nice score on the fender! No luck on matching bumpers?

Somebody picked over all the 'scorts for bumpers and defrost switches. Two leads on tires and wheels for $50 a set just waiting for call backs. Perhaps I need an Escort parts WTB thread....
