Sadly, we're selling our Challenge car project.  After 2 years, we realize that we just don't have the time to finish it up and race it.

These photos were just taken, I think they accurately represent how the car looks now:

The car runs and drives well.  It has 123,000 miles on it.  FULL DISCLOSURE: It does have low oil pressure at idle (~2-4 LBS) once the engine gets hot, but pressure builds nicely with RPM's.  There's an oil pressure vs RPM chart in our shop manual, and our oil pressure is good everywhere except idle, which our book says should be a minimum of 7 PSI.

There is a complete extra LT1 motor and a ton of extra parts included with the sale, if you want to rebuild it and do a swap.  We were planning to just run the motor that's in it till she blows though, and I'd guess it has some miles left in it, but I can't guarantee that...

The exterior paint is in decent shape, except for the rear spoiler, T-top hoop, and top edge of the drivers door, which all have clear coat peeling.  A good wash, and color compound buff gets it looking good from 10 feet back.  Here are some photos of it that were taken after we detailed it and buffed it out.  This was 2 summers ago, and it's sat outside since, so it needs buffed out again.  The photos above are how it looks currently.

The interior is completely gutted and the AC has been removed.  All of the lights and gauge cluster have been retained.  The instrument cluster bracket, instrument surround, shifter/console cover, and rear seats are included with the car but are not installed.  The rest of the interior is gone.

The car has a clean Maryland title in my name, and is currently registered and tagged 'Historic'.  This allowed us to skip the inspections and still legally drive it around.

Here's a link to our build thread, if you want to read the whole story and see a ton more photos.  Skip to the bottom of page 2 to see the start of the build.  The first 1.5 pages are just us chatting about what car to buy.

Car upgrades:

Comp Cams  Xtreme Energy 276HR-12 cam  (503 grind, bought 'used' but was new in box)

Trick Flow valve springs  TFS-16314-16  (bought brand new)

FTI  ESRL0086, 3600 stall with lockup   (bought brand new)

All new engine gaskets, head bolts, and hand lapped valve job

New brake pads all around and new rear rotors

All 4 brake calipers rebuilt

Cold air intake

Founders Performance Lower Control Arms Relocation Brackets

99 Trans Am Posi axle with 3.23 gears

Pace Setter ceramic coated long tube headers  (came with the car when we bought it)

Summit Racing glass pack mufflers

New sway bar end links and bushings

Brand new Interstate battery.

4x 18'' Corvette wheels with spacers so they fit a 4th gen properly.  These are the black wheels in the photos.  All 4 tires match and hold air, but have low tread.

Extras that come with the car:

Complete LT1 engine with aluminum heads (disassembled for cleaning and inspection - in good shape)

New LT1 gasket set

Extra set of cast iron LT1 heads (used - good shape)

Wiring harness and ECM for T56 manual transmission (the car currently has a 4L60E auto)

2 aluminum drag wheels with Mickey Thompson tires (50%) tread

New still in the box alternator (the one on the car does charge)

Extra working Opti Spark (used)

Extra working water pump (used)

Extra working dual electric fan setup (used)

Extra new trans filter

Extra new serpentine belt

Various extra relays, switches, sensors, small parts, etc.

Stock Z28 axle with Posi and 2.93 gears

Eaton M90 supercharger (used in good shape - we had big plans for this, but never had the time for it)

Tuner Cats software and cable

We have receipts for almost everything we bought and would be happy to pass them along.

We're asking $1800 for the car, which is about what we have in it going by the Challenge rules.  There are bunch of extra parts that come with the car, so you could sell them off to recoup some budget money if you wanted to.  If you think my price is out of line, make me an offer.

What!?! It runs and drives?

Just bring it to the challenge and go! (If, however, you insist then I may do it for you...)

That's a smoking deal!  Not sure how I missed this last week.  Let me know if you want to sell the posi out of the spare axle (assuming it's the right carrier for the S10), or the blower, tho an M90 seems small for an LT1?

Easily solved by installing dual superchargers.

SOLD SOLD SOLD,  pending pickup.

I hope Patrick enjoys his new car and posts all about it on the forums so I can race it vicariously through him...

Yep, it runs and drives, but like the ad says it has low idle oil pressure... so just keep your foot down and the revs up.

The Posi in the extra axle is a Series II carrirer, so it should fit a stock S-10.

The m90 probably won't make more than 5-ish PSI of boost in a 350, but boost is boost.  We didn't put enough time into it to get the m90 installed anyway.  We pulled it form a low miles Buick at the pull-a-parts yard, so we got it dirt cheap.
