1988 BMW 535i - 5-speed manual
Asking $750, willing to negotiate.
Located in Waynesboro, PA
NO TITLE

Was planning to gut it and set it up as a street legal drift car and $2019 challenge car, but I ran into title issues. No title! Make me an offer, I just don't feel like messing with a car with no title.
Does not crank when you turn the key, but push/bump start and it starts up right away.
Idles fine, but once you rev it up a bit it has a misfire. My first guess it coil, but I literally haven't touched it to look into it.
Apparently some or all of the gauges don't work.
Interior is junk.
TITLE DETAILS:
I have an Ohio title in hand. The name on the title is the ex-girlfriend of the guy I bought it from. The title has been signed over to him, so I was unable to put it into my name. He said he was willing to finish putting it in his name and then sign it and mail it to me, but since then has not been responsive. I STILL HAVE THE TITLE. I Also tried reaching out to her directly to see if she could get a duplicate and then sign and mail to me. She said she would and I've sent her money to do so, but I am pretty sure she took my money and ran.
I should also note, I have (2) spare engines, (1) spare trans, and (1) complete spare rear end if anyone wants to take them as well. For a reasonable price of course.
I know one of you wants to buy it just for the stickers!*
* - Stickers placed on by the PO, I do not associate with them or their statements.
* - Cannot confirm the car's functionality to drop undergarments.
So...that's supposed to say '88 or '89 rather than '98, right?
Seems like a good deal. They ain't making any more E28s.

Yes.... Doh! Edited my post. If a mod see this, can they adjust the thread title?

might be able to get a title
Huh! Never heard of that one... That looks like a very interesting process they have going there. By the time I do that process, then transfer it to PA, I'd be in almost as much as I am now again. I'll keep it in mind though.
do what i do, drive it for a year on the Vermont tag then change when it's time to renew.
i will say i'm not a BMW fan, but there is a place in my heart for that vintage 5.

Not a bad idea still. Bill of sale requirement might kill it for me though... I don't really have one. Though, who sold it to me doesn't really matter. I could probably "sell" it to a friend and have them "sell it back to me with a bill of sale...
Just write one out on the nearest bar napkin.....
The wheels look great on there. Awesome car, hope to see it get bought and used well!
re. bill of sale, just claim ignorance of that requirement. print out whatever exchanges you have with PO's ex, etc. i have found that going to the DMV / SOS office and being polite / complementary / relaxed with the person on the other side of the counter has *always* gotten me over whatever (typically minor) procedural or documentation errors i have had. do her nails look nice? ask where she gets them done, "because my wife is looking for a mani-pedi" and not because you're trying to gauge the panty-dropping skillz of the E28. etc. Build a bridge!
