One of the guys I work with is selling his 1998 4Runner.
It needs work, and the issues are described in the CL ad. He's asking $1500, but would take a reasonable offer

I let him know, and the listing was renewed.
If there's any interest from the GRM community, make an offer. I know he won't give it away, but he is definitely looking to get it on its way to a new home.
Thanks! good truck, but I stopped at "rust on the frame". Would be good for parts for someone, that's for sure.
That's the issue he's running into.
He needs to find the right person that wants it for parts or project.
"Starting the rust thing" probably means it's rusty as hell.
Pulsating brakes is common on these 4runners. Third members too, as well as side bearings. You never see one in the pick and pull with a rear axle.
Hmm... there's one of these for sale near me with a $3500 asking price. I stopped and looked at it yesterday and it didn't look too bad, although I didn't crawl under it to look for frame rust. I was pondering it for a winter beater.
There is a guy that takes mostly ruined examples of these down here and pops the frames out for use in just such a project. He only has an older frame right now, but it's possible he has others laying around.
Or parts. The real question is if it has a rear locker in it or not. There would be a button to the left of the steering wheel. Maybe combine with this?
