Sold.

Affiliated, mine.

Up for sale, is a totaled 2002 Mustang GT. Under 130K. Engine runs, transmission shifts, car will drive, poorly. It is badly bent.

Rear axle is leaking oil, I believe it is the pinion seal. The drive shaft is dragging on something at the back and the seal probably got pinched. I would assume it needs seals and bearings.

The engine is missing 4 coils. I robbed them for my P71.

The suspension appears to be in good condition, but the chassis is bent enough to throw the wheel base off by 1.5" side to side, so no guarantees.

The car has been under cover since the wreck, about 3 months ago. Not much of the interior is salvageable because of crash damage.

I bought the car planning to use the drivetrain in something. I'll never get around to it.

As is no warranty.

I'm keeping the wheels and tires. It will be sitting on steel P71 wheels and tires by tomorrow.

Asking price is $800. Offers considered.

There wasn't. It was a near thing, but at the last minute my 12 year old decided to stay home.

But it'd need a body.

Mine: that's the point...

Manual?

Javlin,

Let me see if I get any bites on the whole car before I sell the front end parts and the steering wheel. The console, and most of the dash took a pretty hard hit, I'll look at those parts and let you know if they are in one piece. The trunk stuff should be in decent shape. I'll shoot you some pictures.

Mad_Ratel,

It's a auto.

My interior stuff is half busted, so I am okay with half busted. Looking at your photos, I think I can make good stuff at our of both of ours.

I wish it was manual. I'd be really working hard to convince the wife if it was. :(

What's the rear end design of those things? IRS? Any idea what the rear gears are? LSD?

Did you buy this as a motor donor, or was this your DD, and you bought it back from the insurance co as a donor?

definitely not LSD, they're 8.8 stick axles but I don't know the details on gearing or diffs.

I remember the story.

But he said in his first post that he bought it as a motor donor. I was confirming that he REBOUGHT it from the ins co.

(Which would mean he has a better knowledge of the cars's history pre-accident)

It was a insurance buy back, but we had only owned the car 2 months before my wife smashed it. It was well cared for and garaged kept prior to our ownership.

The wheels won't fit my P71, they are the wrong offset. I have already bought a set of wheels for it, the steelies and the crappy plastic hubcaps were driving me crazy.

My wife wants to keep the gray wheels for her next tire change. What Mama wants, Mama gets.

Yes, stick axle. No, LSD.

Javlin, the center console is broken in multiple places and smashed between the seats. It would have to come out in pieces. Even the console lid is broken off at the hinges. The center vent trim is broken, even the vents are broken, as is the surround around the shifter. Pretty much the entire dash is broken. Even the knee panel below the steering wheel. The hit was on the A pillar and door, and when it moved a foot and a half into the car, it compressed the dash. My wife wanted to salvage the Kenwood head unit for her green Mustang, but even it is smashed. It's simply an amazing amount of destruction inside the car.

The trunk stuff is in good shape.

If SVreX passes on the entire car, I'll be happy to send the interior parts to you for the cost of shipping. The front end parts, I'm going to have to leave on the car, otherwise I can't move it. I'm fixing to have to roll it back in the shop for this hurricane, so I can pull the tent down.
