Wow, memories here. High school buddy of mine had one. We dropped a good 289 into it, my first engine swap. Ran really good after that. Until he blew the rear end. Put a 9" in then. He went on to be an engine engineer for Ford.
Seeing you have to paint it anyway .....

Very interesting! "Restoration mold" sounds scary though.
I always liked those cars. I remember a road test in a mag that tested that model car with a 343 AMC V8. It was a sleeper before the term was invented! I also always liked the Scrambler model. In the late 70's & early 80's your could buy one cheap, but today their value is just going up.
