They want $1600 because that's "what they paid for it". Except it ran when they bought it and now it's dead. Sorry, that drops the value just a bit

Good chance it needs a battery. Those cars don't just die. The rust free is a savior

Rust free is good, but critical engine parts like cranks are non-existent. I know, because I race one, and have hoarded such parts for years. There are a myriad of engine swaps out there, but no bolt in ones. All require significant fabrication. I'd buy it for the tranny at 1/4 the price, but I already have six of them. It is kind of laughable that he wants what he has in it, but where it is in worse shape than he got it. Soon to be a hard lesson learned in old car economics. I may check it out a month from now when I go to visit my brother in KY.
