Doesn't look too bad. The engine has to be worth that right?
I've never driven the car, bought it off a whim not knowing how to drive a stick. Just not interested in owning it anymore. The car has a whole new clutch system, Bluetooth radio, sunroof, blue led lights under the seats and dash, led headlights, hook up for subs, I also have the side skirts. Don't know the exact mileage but I know it's around 126000 on a new engine. The original engine was around 119000 miles
However, the car has its problems as well. It may need a new battery, but I will get that solved for you if interested. It needs new rotors on the front, new wheel bearings on the front passenger side, needs new breaks, and new tires down the line. I ordered the wheel bearing, rotors, and breaks but one of the three didn't send and got refunded. I do have the wheel bearings, just waiting on the other part to arrive
The car is in fairly decent shape, the leather seats are in good, clean condition. The inside of the car needs a really good cleaning, I bought it off of parents with a toddler. There is a key fob with power locks and a built in alarm system.
Please text or email me if interested or if you have any questions. All in all the car in wonderful, I'm just not interested in owning it and need it out of my driveway ASAP.
There's one of these about 200 miles from me. That one (supposedly) has about 130,000 miles on it and is generally in better shape than this one. Of course, it is selling for nearly 4 times what this one is selling for.
I've always found these cars, and Contours and Mystiques in general, to be very interesting cars due to their European "cross breeding".
This could be an interesting start to a $2018 contender, but for me it is too far away and a bit more work than I am able to do.
They are surprisingly good handlers, I recall being very impressed during my drive. The body kits are frail and hard to find pieces for, but the motor is pretty stout.

If you can believe Wiki, the SHO V8 should bolt to that manual transmission. To actually make that a Contour SHO, rather than a Contour SVT.
I was going to say that is a SVT. I have driven a couple of these and really liked them. I have wanted to get one lower it a bit put some nice wheels and tires maybe some koni’s at all corners with some Ibocs. Add some adjustable bars and have a cool little state board.
Oh and if I remember the seats in these were very nice for stock ford seats.

They were neat cars for their time, even if they seem underpowered now. They did handle well stock, and made a pretty nice noise. The engine compartment was tight, making most underhood jobs a royal pain. I don’t see a v8 fitting in there. I’ve owned 3 of them over the years. Here’s the last one I sold in 2009. It’s getting hard to find nice ones.
I've been interested in these for years, but have seen reports on the forums that the insulation on the wiring harnesses disintegrate.
Might be some truth to that, since I've seen several on CL with wiring associated problems.
I wouldn't touch one now, which is a shame.
I owned one that i liked a lot. I added a bigger rear sway bar and that helped the car rotate. The wheel bearings are a pain to replace and you have to make sure to do it right or they will go again quickly. Last year for them was 2000 so any of them are getting old. They would make a good Lemons car but you have to swap in a 3.0L as the 2.5L likes to rev so much that you'll blow it up racing it. The con rods are powered metal and the rod bolts are prone to stretching from high revs and then the rod bearing spins and breaks and you're getting towed home.
