That's right, you can have a genuine 190E 2.3-16 for 2016 Challenge money! Bought this car from a friend for it's engine and transmission. The rest of the car can be yours:
As you can see, he added some Evo II replica fender flares and bumpers. Plenty of room for huge wheels and tires. The chassis is straight without any rust or accident damage. The paintwork is solid, but dull: needs a good buffing. There's a small dent on the trunklid. Interior is typical for these cars: some light dash cracks; leather on the dryish side; some split seams.
Again, I've taken the engine and transmission, so you'll need to GRM-up your own drivetrain. I do have a spare M102 16v block and Cosworth head that I can add to the deal for a bit of extra cash. Very easy to swap in an M103 SOHC or M104 DOHC big-six engine. Lots of nice parts you can sell.
Asking just $1750 for quick sale. Car is located on the upper east side of Manhattan, NY. Need it out of the shop ASAP due to lack of space. Towing can be arranged.
So you're taking the most important stuff. ...

I'm taking what I need for the racecar. The stock 165 hp engine isn't the best choice for a challenge car anyway ;)
Upper East of Manhattan? The tolls to get off the island with a trailer would be $1750 alone!

In reply to NordicSaab:
Nonsense. There are plenty of ways out without paying a toll.
Given the bits yanked and the parts needed to finish, I would doubt this could be finished for challenge money.

Needs an Escape from NY pic.

Like I said, I've got a block, head, and trans if anyone wants the car with original drivetrain. Can work out a deal to come in under $2k if anyone is serious.
Also, you guys might not be aware of how much you can get if you part out the car. Door cards alone are $400-500 used. Fuel distributors are $800-900 used. Back seats are $200 used. Front seat motors are worth a few hundred as well. You can easily get the price of the car down to $0 if you're going to strip it for Challenge use.
Also, it's already got a track worthy suspension, with 500E springs and new Bilstein Sports dampers. Good brakes. With the Evo II flares, you can easily fit 17" wheels with 245 tires. Definitely not the case for the stock 16v.

Anyway, if the price is too high then make me an offer! The shop wants the car gone ASAP

I can help with that. Can use one of my AAA Premium tows to get the car within 100 miles of the shop.

That is what I was thinking LS/LQ, SBC or SBF.

I've seen SBF and LSX in these cars before. The M103/M104 swap is popular (like putting an M30 or S38 into an E30). The twin-cam M104 bolts up to the dogleg, close-ratio, Getrag transmission. Make your own AMG Hammer.
Like I said, I'm willing to include the transmission if someone wants it. I'm flexible. Trying to avoid being murdered by the shop owner whose patience with me has (rightly) worn thin.

BMW swap for sure. That would ruffle some feathers.
Or perhaps the Audi v8 that was suggested in the rwd thread.

The more I think about it, Audi 5 cyl would be nice and confusing.
Apparently they take boost.
Title? What year is the chassis?
Isn't the body kit expensive to buy and to fit professionally?

The car has a clean Connecticut title. I think it's an '87 but I'll have to double-check.

I guess so. I don't really have experience with that kind of thing.

I really really don't need this, and we already have a 300E lemons car in the family...sent to a friend who is more into these then I am.
If you get really desperate, we might be able to make something work. Basically, please don't scrap it.
I agree, please don't scrap it. Wish I had the space and time.
I had a flight of fancy about making a rallycross car out of one of these. I'm seriously glad I didn't see this last week when I was driving on the Cross-Bronx. I don't have the cash. I really don't have the cash...
