NMNA.
Interior looks good from pics.

Yeah, they do that. Even in areas that aren't rust prone, like here in the PNW, we've seen them rust out there. The caulked seams along the top of the firewall and where the floors meet the bottom of the firewall fail and let water in. Combined with the old door and window seals, you've got a hell of a stew going baby!
Luckily, the floors are pretty easy to replace in that area since they are pretty flat with just a slight bend at the front. For $700, I'd chance it for a Challenge car or a RallyX rig.
The running is likely vacuum leaks as most people make it worse when they try to "fix it" replace them with new silicone or rubber vacuum hose and it will run million times better.
Man would I LOOOOVE to have that interior (at least the seats and door panels) for the Rampage since it's essentially the same color pattern (though inverted) from what the Rampage should end up looking like.

Get it as a parts car! I bet you can get the seats almost free.
In reply to Robbie :
Am I correct in thinking that this would have the Garret turbo and not the Mitsu like mine? If I could get it for a bit cheaper (like $500 or so) it would be tempting to pick up and use as a parts car and part out to get it down to as close to zero (or better yet, get it to zero and be able to use parts from it to sell off things from the Rampage to offset its price). SWMBO wouldn't be very happy with me for it, but if I could get it stripped down fairly quickly and gone I might avoid too much annoyance...
In reply to Cooter :
If they're the same silver/blue pattern that these are I may be interested (though won't be up that way until around Christmas when we drive up to visit SWMBO's family in WI). I have seats at the moment- they're just much more plain and don't match the paint scheme I want to use nearly as well as these do...

I'm pretty sure that if that's an '85 T1, it should have the Garret T3. I think it was 88 or 89 that they started with the Mitsubishi snail.
Yup, that is a suckthrough Turbo 1 with a Garrett turbo.
You'll need a newer cold side housing or an adapter: http://thedodgegarage.com/turbo_con.html
It will have the larger brakes, hubs, front sway bar, faster steering rack and manual transmission conversion parts (handy if you want to convert it someday), plus a Turbo hood.
The cylinder head is a one year only option that is handy for porting and having a spare exhaust manifold for porting is handy as well. The distributor is a 1-year only option so I'd sell it on as it isn't useful for your current engine. There's some debate whether the cam is better than the roller cam you already have, but ultimately that's up to you to research.
The rear seat covers and other interior parts that you don't need are or want are valuable. I wouldn't try and sell or ship the seats themselves, unless you find someone local. The doors are the same, but the glass is different and the hinges are welded onto the cars, so swapping doors is a bit involved (but necesary once the hinges wear out and the doors sag).
Will see if the seller ever responds to my text. If I could sell the other stuff down enough to keep it, it would be amusing to keep the rear seats and fab a way to mount them in the bed Subaru Brat-style.
I doubt I'll be able to make this work, but it does seem like it would have potential if I could get it cheaply enough. Would be a haul to go up and get it, but I DO have this Friday off...
Have gotten no response so far from either text or email... so I may not have to try and sell/explain this to SWBO...

Did it sound like he was at all flexible on the price for it?
I've got a complete Plymouth Sundance in Gainesville FL that would happily donate it's entire body to be used for something again for scrap money.
Can't understand CL. People advertise, then won't answer you. Too bad, may have had a lot of stuff for you to complete your car. Explaining oneself to SWMBO is a life long proposition.
Well, in slight fairness the post does say to call- which I'm generally not inclined to do unless I'm absolutely 100% ready to run out and get something. I have the number though, and will keep an eye on the listing- if it's still there in 2 weeks when I have the next Friday off from work I may call and see if I can get it really cheap.
In reply to Ashyukun :
If you need a place to stash it I'm close to it and have room in the backyard. You can hitch a ride up here with Tim tomorrow.
I'm not an enabler or anything...
In reply to EvanB :
Heh, I’ll keep that in mind, though it would be better most likely for me to just bring it back and not be trying to hide it if I got it. Unfortunately I have commitments tomorrow with SWMBO so couldn’t go up there.
I think I’m good with my current plan- if he’s still got it in 2 weeks he’ll likely to be a bit more open to negotiating on the price and I’ll have a full day I could spent going up there and bringing it back.
You'll need to log in to post.
