OK where do you live, fill out your profile info, I don't care unless you can come help, lol.
being that shipping is out. Even if I bought an engine complete I Would take it apart to look If I hadn't seen it run. FIRST HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU HAVE. A machine shop for an engine not picked up, go there don't call with THAT sort of Question. craigslist Swap meets THE NELSONS, PATRICK. Because I don't know where you are. I bet we can make you a recipe for you. A streetable, 400 hp engine is just a good combo, 500 starts to cost, and to me where new stuff aka LS becomes affordable, because 500 hp is going to cost around 5 grand, no nos . budget shoppers can do better . PS I would jus buy Scat, crank rods KB pistons, aluminum heads/190cc max chamber match pistons ie street 10 to1 race 12 to 1 cheep excluds roller cam.
well atlanta craiglist is always full, first sat. of the month is a huge swap meet at Commerce dragway. that'a a long 1.5 hrs north of atl up 85 so 3.5 4.5 hrs to there. but likely my friend Lance has stuff. I will call him tonite
so you didn't go to the swap meet, Craigslist Atlanta search Chevy Engine in parts I saw bunch of stuff, including a 2 bolt 400 block 400.00 bucks I think. Crank spacers 3.25 large journal crank 6 inch rods good pistons 12 to 1 just nice aluminum heads, makes a 355 that will scream. again find a scat crank and rods KB pistons if you can find some

How many racer friends do you have? Talk to them. I put together a race motor from their discards and replaced parts. You don’t need the best stuff in fact 2nd best will do wonders at a place like the challenge.
If you don’t have at least six friends willing to give/lend you that sort of stuff I suggest you start working on your people skills. Friends don’t cost money and a real friend will really give you the shirt off his back.

All my friends run LS, RB and 2J stuff. Unless its Volvo powered, which won't do much for a 4500 pound wagon.

Are you coming to the Challenge?
And thank you! I love Tampa, used to go to the Coke plant over near The Hardrock and fix their palletizer
