Left off my size. XL please.
MD,
I've been following along thru Grosh and the AMG rebuild. Like everyone else, I love the writing. I hate to jump on board an already crowded wagon, but I would love a shirt in Large. Have a great time with Ferdinand..I know you (and we) will. :)
You sir, are blessed with a fantastic wife, as I am....
My garage work seems to be mostly repair and maintenance, but you're inspiring my XS650 rebuild from frame out....coming February '18 (after hunting season here in OH--IO).... not as big as your wonderful projects, but it is what I have to play with currently.
I'd be proud to wear a size L Ferdinand t-shirt, and will make a donation to one of the hurricane relief funds.

If we haven't worked something out by SEMA you should expect a bag of shirts to be delivered to you. You're dangerously close to being the European distribution arm of my most recent way to lose money.

Your offer is amazing and appreciated. I did get something to work (more on that in a bit) so no real need to ship heavy steel things for now. Can I keep that offer of help in my back pocket? You never know what this truck is going to throw at me.

Wait until I show the full details of the single circuit remote booster brakes. Sketchy doesn't even begin to express my feelings. My grandpa had a Scout when I was a kid. Old Internationals are cool, pretty much all of them.

I keep thinking that a rational person would just play with motorcycles. Simple hand tools, you can drag them around by yourself, 5-10 of them fit in the space of one car, what's not to like? And yet I keep bringing home bigger and bigger things. One of us is smarter than the other.
Gentabout: thanks for sharing your fast wagon pics, dream bucket list stuff there.
Mazdeuce: I can't say enough about your writing. Thank you for sharing your gift of words and projects with us. I will eventually run into you somewhere, once I get back into car projects, and you spend 2 months out of the year relatively close to me. I will shake your hand and put beer in it one day and 2 into Mrs. Mazdeuce for putting up with all of this :P
I hear ya on the bike thing. Bikes are also cool and agile making them lots of fun.
Problem I have with working on bikes is that I then want to ride them. Wife the ICU nurse spends way too much time knitting bikers back together and has asked that I don't partake of that activity.

I think coffee is probably more appropriate
As long as you're taking orders I'll sign up for a L.
Keep up the good work/writing. I'm yet another new member drawn here by the Mercedes thread. Your input/updates are always enjoyable.

I am in for an XL. Thanks so much for the generous offer. Donation sent in Ferdinand's name .
Yesterday I stopped by Harbor Freight to see if they had a solution. The largest adjustable wrench they had was big enough to beat a brontosaurus to death, but not big enough for the dust caps. I did grab the largest set of channel locks that they had, but my small girlish wrists couldn't make it happen. I do have a very large set of pliers now, which is cool.
Oldopelguy suggested making a wrench out of plywood. At first this sounds dumb, a plywood wrench? But then I remembered that if something sounds dumb, but works, it's not dumb. Out with the drafting tools and cardboard!
I used my perfectly calibrated 2 5/8 hexagon to make a wrench out of cardboard to see if it would fit. And it did! Stylistically I modeled it on Slippery's work, though my work in cardboard leaves a lot to be desired.
Then I broke out the drill and the jig saw. You guys know how much I love my jig saw.
I left all the extra wood in place this time, for strength, and with a few taps of a hammer, success! Oldopelguy wins at being a genius internet guru for the day.
Excellent! I don't know about the accolades but I am glad it worked and you got to use the jigsaw on your truck, after a fashion.
I think Ferdinand could use a set of bull horns on top the cab sooner rather than later. Seems only appropriate for Texas.
The soft close on shirts is going to be 5:00 PM central time tomorrow. I think there is still a 24 hour delay between when you make an account and when you can post, so if you want a shirt, you're running out of time. Tomorrow evening I'll make my final size list and order the shirts. Once I start getting them together (and I'll post about how I do it) then I'll start PMing people for addresses and sending them out. Anyone who wants one after that is going to be entered in a Thunderdome style competition with the winner getting both a shirt, and control of Bartertown.
Hmm, i dont need a shirt, but do want to control bartertown. Can i sign up for the thunderdrome?
2x for the shirt, and i promise it goes to the challenge.
I would like a shirt also I would take a large. If i remember correctly you were up in my neck of the woods I'm a few miles from Wausau WI. Been enjoying reading about your projects.

Is your caliper... melted? O_O
Aside from that, been following the build and its really making me want to stop in and ask about an old chevy on the highway...
I am down for a shirt. Gilden brand I should play it safe with an XL and I will proudly wear it in the prairies of Canada :D
OK, the plywood wrench is amazing!
Can I do two XLs? One for me, one for my son; one of his nicknames as a kid was Ferdinand the Bull.
(I'll cover shipping, and make an additional donation to ARC for Harvey relief)
As a loyal follower of the cult of mazdeuce, I'd love a shirt in Large. This project has been awesome so far, and makes me reallllllly want to tear into my Westfalia.
Was not going to ask for a shirt and add to your workload, but put me down for a 2XL. Will buy BBQ in your honor for my neighbor who today had minor surgery. Happy to hear you are discarding the split rims.
You'll need to log in to post.
