The slicks have arrived! This should give us sufficient grip to shred the gnar!
I am happy to say the rear is all but done minus a few touch up pieces. we also now have fully functioning headlights, tailights, and brake lights.
Today was a good day.
For those that have been wanting a side view. Take it with a grain of salt...
We still have some filler peices to add...BUT! we have a plan!
Surfshibby, did your Spitfire have a motor in it originally? One you need to sell for challenge budget money?
Project looks cool so far!
In reply to oppositelocksmith :
Unfortunately it did not. It was a roller that came with a miata trans and full factory miata suspension in the trunk. The transmission is sold and the shell. Still have miata suspension for sale lol
In reply to surfshibby07 :
The side-view almost has the the proportions and shape of a circa 2000 Jaguar XK...if you squint...really hard.

Looking at the pictures... did you keep the bonnet latch body-side catches from the tub? Having them should make latching the bonnet down a little easier. Just need to fab up a couple of brackets to mount them to the Solstice body.
In reply to Ian F (Forum Supporter) :
I didnt butbthey were very simple to make. Unfortunately the location of them makes it almost impossoble. One is on the side of the battery and the other is in open space. We could make a bracket for them. But limited time we have to prioritize other things first.
Tonight the hood was mounted to the stock solstice hood hinges. AND moved the hood stops on the solstice himges up to where the latches are.
Long story short, nothing is cribbed up anymore and everything is mounted on the car!
In reply to AxeHealey :
I could. But 93 octane and also has a salvage rebuildable title. Id need to get it inspected etc and idk if i want to go through all that.
That hood is looking good!
Can't tell if it is a trick of the light reflection on the 'stripes' or if there is something off about the way they bend - but even if there is, this will rock!
In reply to Piguin :
They are rolled over at the front. The drivers side stripe is reflecting more light as its catching it from a light almost right above it.
