Thanks
Got the front fender and top half of both doors to what I think I am calling good. All gray, no pink left. Rounded areas need another pass with the softer sander.

I'm pretty sure that's a good bit straighter paneling than they were available with OEM...
From what I can see, it looks FLAT. good show! Also, the vent in the cowl: really sand the sides well. They love to chip if you don't.
Thanks guys! I can see it coming together too. I just need to find the end goal I am looking for.
On that note. Anyone added tint to epoxy DIY style? :D

LOts of mixed info if you go looking. Valspar seems to have a product that is almost made for tinting (Vlaspar CPS) But other than that results seem mixed. Expect pastel finished no matter what. Link below is prettytypical of what I have heard in the past.

Thanks, I want as shiney as possible, but was just thinking of making the grey epoxy just a little darker with some black pigment.
In reply to java230 :
Pretty sure that can be done. Question is if your particular vendor will do it for you? Most wont mess with the product if there is a chance of a comeback. I would call SPI direct and talk to the Horse.

I will do just that. They are awesome to deal with. I am talking about buying amazon style pigment :D

On the roof, I have lowered "ribs", when doing the lace, should I tape them off? Seems like it might bleed strangely in them if they lace isn't down tight in the dip
On the lace over an irregular surface. Lightly spray the lace with 3M repositionable adhesive and let it set up a bit. It gives a post it note like stickability to the lace. Just be careful that you place the lace straight down dont drag it around a lot on the surface or you could get some transfer which could corrupt your paint.
Got a few more hours in this weekend. Guess what, it looks the same in pictures!! And I need a lot more sanding. It looks smooth until you clean it and run a hand over it. Can still feel the orange peel in lots of places.
My low spots are also still low. They weren't bad enough for me to want to hit them with filler, I was just trying to get the orange peel out, but i hit metal pretty good in a couple spots around them. Glazing putty maybe? Also found some pin holes I missed.
Fist order of business was clean the damn garage. When I don't have enough time things just get checked on the floor inside the man door....
Back to sanding, crank the tunes, get to work.
Drivers side is 95% done. I need to hit the edges of the body lines (was just sanding up to them) and the stupid detail stuff around the windows that takes forever.
Pass side needs a lot of work. Its getting there but still have lots of peel. Blocked all the way to filler until i hit metal on the front fender.
Hood has the low spots I hit metal good around. But otherwise is also 95%
Roof sucks. I just cant reach the middle. And lots of low spots... Not sure what to do there. I am afraid glazing putty will flash bad under paint.
Something to be said about forward progress, no matter how many things still need work.
But look at how many square inches DON'T need any more work.
Also, you're not painting it black.....

I can see the progress thats for sure, I had estimated it would take a bit less sanding than it actually will. No big deal, obviously this isn't fast paced project.....
No, not black, but dark ish gray....

how to reach the center: you need to rig up some kind of trolley down the center of your garage ceiling so you can suspend yourself from it, Mission Impossible style.

This is a perfect application for one of them i beam trolly winch things. Like they use in the mills.

I totally wish I had tall enough ceilings for a big ass I Beam trolly crane!! I think I need to rig up some scaffolding of some sort.
Looking at this pic and you stopped when you hit metal.
I think I sees some pink towards the bottom of the circle I drew. You can still feather down from the high spot and define the area towards the body-line; you just dont want to sand over the bare spot anymore.
It is looking really good.
In reply to NOHOME :
Yeah there is still a dent there. I didn't fill enough. The high spot where the metal is, is the upper crease on the dent.
The pink is prob because where they stamped out the marker is super high, big lip all around from the punch.
I've been avoiding all the body lines so far. Need to come back and hit with soft sander at the end.
