What's next, raised white letter truck tires?

RWL, yes. Truck tires, no. Legal 35% tint: yes. Mudflap delete: god no. Rallyarmor flaps, maybe.

The gold and burgundy work together to my eyes better.

Agree with tint.

Down here its a rare treat to see a g body on wheels smaller than 17"... most like 26"

To me, the bronze and grey pictures look the same. I think the brighter color gold breaks up the darker body color, but it probably looks different in the real world.

Yeah, I'm just not getting the right vibe with gold. I think it may be a bit showy IRL. But, to each their own!

I think your Photoshop is making them appear brighter than they will be in real life. They are already gold although a bit grimy. Throw the cleanest wheel on the car and step back and take a look.

Imo the gold looks awesome on dark colored Oldsmobile

Gold works on the 2-doors, but my sedan has no real sporting aspirations, thus the grey.

I went to work on the Cutlass last weekend, and I learned four things.

1: Cutlass Supreme Sedan parts are rarer than I thought.

2: 31-year old sheetmetal screws do not like to move, even with generous amounts of PB B'laster

3: There will always be phantom drain

4: What seems like a solid rear frame rail extension can actually be held in place by friction.

Sorry for the lack of pics, my camera decided to stop focusing the day before I headed out to work on it.

You're right, the gray does look better. Make sure it's glossy and maybe a hint of metallic. What about using the Maroon body color?

Sounds like you need what's called an "impact screwdriver".

I have something called a drill that I can try. If worst comes to worst, I can pop for an impact driver.

I would still function as well, with generous amounts of PB B'Laster.

The impact driver is one of those things you can't live without after you've used one.

So I pressure-washed my Super Stock IIIs, in prep to hit them with the wire wheel tomorrow. Then on sunday, I'll put some evapo-rust in the lug hole areas. I'm bringing the car up in a few weeks. I really need to order that frame rail.

I just came across this and thought of your thread: AWD G-Body

Keep up the excellent work. Pulling this off is so worth it and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

To be clear, they're talking about one of these:

Craftsman Impact Screwdriver

Much less expensive than what you may have been thinking about. Also excellent for popping off those screws holding rotors onto hubs, plus 1001 other things.

Keep up the good work!

I picked up my new frame rail today from Conrad Lozier. If you have a G-body and need frame rail replacement, contact him. I'm going to get it installed, after I find a way to tow the car up. The Oldsmoboat Gutbus Extreme should be on the road by the end of May!

Been reading this thread since the start and only now realized that you are just around the corner in Stoney Creek.

If you ever drive down this way, let me know. Fridge tends to be stocked.
