I once owned a 9c1 with the LT1, I changed the wires from underneath on a creeper mostly, time consuming fiddly job .

I've got the pump unbolted, but I had depleted my capacity for temper by the time I realized I'd need to remove both steering hoses to get it out. That's going to require a fresh Clem to tackle. Maybe this morning!

There's so much stuff bolted to this engine. several hours of skinned and dirtied knuckles netted this: photo P1010379_zpsbeb50c4c.jpg I have plenty of knuckle skin left to donate, it seems. I still can't see much of the passenger-side spark plug wires (or the bolts holding the accessories on).

I see you buy stuff at Harbor Freight. I too, like to live dangerously. (Recognized my favorite flashlight and my battery charger). Good luck!

I like these cars. Almost bought an Impala SS of this generation, but the owner backed out of selling it. Doesn't look fun to work on.

The flashlight is indeed from HF. I don't like those lights anymore because you have to bang on them continually to get them to work. Weird. The Charger is a Schumaker I got from somewhere else for motorcycle batteries.

The fresh approach to the PS pump paid off. I was able to get it torn down to where I can get to the plug wires easily.

While I'm at it, I've also performed an a.i.r. pump delete. I just need to find plugs for the exhaust manifolds that don't cost $13 each (That's what the first store I went to had...M22 x 1.5 oil drain plug).

I like the color. Sadly no LT1 for this '93

All Buick Roadmasters from 94-96 had the LT1. Faux wood paneling is the E36 M3.

I worked with a guy who had an LT1 Trans-am. I seem to remember him having incredible problems with the optispark system.

Everybody agrees that the optispark system is awfully awesome. Or...everybody agrees that whoever is opposing their views of the optispark system is wrong.

Seriously though...there are staunch defenders out there. I can see why people don't like it. I've got several hours into FINDING the spark plug wires so that I can change them. On the other hand. The car has 200+K miles on it. I wouldn't be surprised if these are the original plug wires (they're AC Delco) and other ignition system components.
