After over a decade of running my trusty 91 Firebird (V8 5spd) around road courses and auto X events across the
PNW its time to step into something new.
I have been on the hunt for a LS1 4th gen and had a new guy at work mention he had a couple of trans am he's
looking to sell.
went to check it out, salvage title because it was hit in the rear, but otherwise clean inside an out.
Asked him how much he wanted, it was a ridiculously good deal.
locked in the deal and dragged it home.
It will replace the thirdgen for my road course track car. very excite!
Car looks like a weapon of tire destruction!
Definitley will be intimidating when i come up in guy's rearview at the track.

Looks awesome! Think you'll run it for another decade??
Nice. These are insanely capable cars with just a few tweaks.

I run a 99 Z28 in ESP.
Know that saying "Front wheel drive racecars are a triumph of enthusiasm over physics"?
It's kind of the same for F-bodies--they're proof that with enough tire, anything can handle well.
Nice! I have a soft spot for the WS6 package cars as it was one of my first cars. Similar to yours as it came with a salvage title but it was pretty mangled. 315 width tires do fit on the back with a little persuasion. These actually handle very well with very little modification needed.
Looking forward to see you develop this car. What are the plans? LS swap (joke)?
Got the car to a buddy's shop and started to go over the car
I got this car for Cheap. really cheap. lest than challenge money. It has a Vats issue, passenger rear quarter damage, and title issues lol. The previous owner said there were some sort of "special shocks" up front.
Upon further inspection he was not lying. i was expecting koni's or bilsteins not a full blown coilover set up. Total Score!
Double adjustable shocks all the way around.
Coilovers on the front, stock springs rear
Brand is called Viking. Iv'e never hear of them either. was hoping they were not cheap ebay china pieces.
did some research and found UMI sells them and they are reputable so thats re assuring.
so stoked.
More to come.

Nice score, I’ve always loved those cars. Viking coilovers are very popular in the drag racing community. Where in Washington are you, I was born in Oak Harbor. Looking forward to the build.

I am in Yakima, its nice to be in the center of the state. there are five road courses within 200 miles of where i live.
hard to see any pass quarter panel damage at all from here. nice score!
