Like the title say's I'm going to rebuild my S8 after buying it back from my insurance company. Thought I'd finally make a build thread with pic's. Once I figure out how to host and transfer to here I should be golden. Little about the car. I got it back in 2011 on a whim while looking for a A4 to replace the Volvo 850 I'd sold. Found it on one of those shister type lots but went to look at it anyways. When I got there the interior was great had all the extra bells and whistles that were available at the time and it was silver with black interior. So the wife said ok since I could do the majority of the work if needed on it. Right off the bat it needed shocks, front wheel bearing, and tires. Once that was done off on a road trip to see my aunt in Carson City Nevada. Boy I thought my previous A4 road nice at speed this car was in a whole other league. I only approached the speed limiter once on the trip and that was just shear not paying attention to my speed. Was talking with the wife and daughter in back when the wife kind of said, boy those tree's look like they are going by pretty fast, Looked down at the speedo and I was just about at 135 and just about crapped my pant's. Needless to say I kept a pretty close eye on my speed from then on out. So since my wife and daughter have, what they say are spoiled, with how the car rides and the room they both have I'm a little stuck. I wanted to go back to a small car with big motor and I got the whole we won't have room for all of us and the parent's when the come to go to dinner speech. Thought about going to the next gen of A8-S8 but still not ready to pony up that kind of money for just the A8 let along the extra scratch they want for the S8. Have looked at another 01-03 S8 but either they want to much for less features mine has or they've been just plan beat to crap and still want to much. So here I am looking to do something that I haven't done and that is rebuild a aluminum bodied car. No this it not my first time rebuilding a car just one that isn't metal.
