One of my favourite things is enabling people to participate in autocross and HPDE . . . my dearest friend has just purchased her first "fun" car.  I know there's been a lot of chatter recently about 128s, and she scored this immaculate 2011 128 with the Sports package, six speed.  The car is stock, though it is in a set of square VMRs (18 x 8.5) with new Pilot Sport A/S.  Turned over 100 000 kms on the drive home.

Plans for now are simply going to be about on-track reliability -- I would imagine that will include the usual brake fluid flush, better pads, and a good alignment.  She's relatively new to track driving and she values precision over outright speed..

Feel good story of the day -- you may be aware that things in Ontario are a bit "stressed" right now.  Meeting the PO, Andrew, really re-affirmed my faith in the goodness of people.  He was exceptional to deal with, and even filled the car before we left on the return trip home.  Even better, while at the bank getting the draft, a young teller came over, super-excited, to ask about the car and if he could take some pics of the "vintage Bimmer" for his Insta feed (German Metal or something -- I don't speak the 'Gram).  People are great!  I was pleased to be reminded of that.

Plate is epic, right?  Friend's hubbie has had it for 25 years or so . . .

It's going to be an Eastern ON car, so if you come this way you'll likely see it.

I forgot how small 1 series are.  It makes my M2 feel ENORMOUS.

Such awesome cars! We have a 2010 128 with all the bolt ons and it's a total blast! Especially love her coral red interior!!

First update:  in a state of exhaustion I offered to drive the car to my house, and park it in my neighbour's driveway (winter parking restrictions are in effect).  If I had delivered it last night there would have been an extra 45 minues of driving, and we were already massively delayed from a traffic accident on the way home.

We had an unexpected amount of overnight snow (10 to 15 cm), and when I went to move said car from the neighbour's driveway so they could use their snowblower, I managed to get stuck.  On the smallest amount of ice possible.

90 minutes later it's now safely in my driveway until the roads are plowed, and I can deliver it to its awaiting garage.  I'm actually impressed with how "good" the Pilot A/S is in the snow . . . I knew I was asking too much from it, and they did better than I expected.  Not good enough to save me getting stuck, but better than they should have been given they are a low profile tire on a RWD car.
