Well I did a thing. 2011 ctsv coupe, 95k miles.
Price was RIGHT. I have been having the fast car itch for awhile. It needs some work. Rear end is whiney. Interior needs a detail, front bumper lip is gone. Headlights foggy.
Rear end is the priority. Dealer quoted 6k. Likely going used (I have a line on a 53k unit.)
Should I add a diff cooler while I'm in there?

Ha yep! Been on irate since pirate went down.

I need more seat time. But it will blow the tires off at a 40mph roll!
Welcome to the LS darkside. If the diff is that beat check on that trans fluid asap. The 6L90 in the CTS-V is quite a bit stronger than the 6L80 but those 6 speeds are pretty picky about fluid and heat.

I will do that! Thank you.
Went out for a rip, service traction control keeps popping up with a flashing check engine light.....
I'd check for a misfire, the GM's like to flash a service traction control message when there's a misfire.
In reply to java230 :
I hate to ask, but any idea on price for the rv?
In reply to rico750sxi_2 :
I will check, there was a stored misfire code when I got it. I cleared them all. I'll have to see if it's back. Scanner is at the shop....
Coil packs?
In reply to dculberson :
Listed previously, a few bites but no traction. Thinking of re listing at 75k.....
I had better hurry up on the mid-life crisis car, as it stands I have to live to 110.
Get a good replacement diff and change the fluid on a regular basis, no need for a diff cooler unless tracking the car a lot. My 2010 has almost 100K more miles and diff is quiet, most likely replaced early in its lifetime. If you get a flair/slipping going into 3rd gear under power, the forward drum in the trans is leaking and will need to be replaced (this was the issue with my car). You can see more on this in my project thread (a bit older now) CTSV

Thanks, I will definitely be changing the fluid often.... Do you run the GM fluid or soemthing different? I was thinking perhaps over filling also, it seems the pinions dont get lubed well from my readings. No shift flare that I notice, but I dont have many miles on it yet.
I ran Amsoil fluid but didn't overfill it. Been driving for a few years (will be changing it here soon) with several autox events without any issues.
