I'm a fan of stock coil packs and stock wires, never had good luck with aftermarket wires except Taylor's on any of my LS'.

Have you done a compression check on all 8 cylinders?
In reply to RacetruckRon :
Not yet. I don't know why I didn't think about it when the plugs were out 😭
It seems to run fine. Breaks tires loose just fine.....
Finally got time to do the catch cans. Really nice product, instructions suck. It looks like they have changed some of the parts along the way and not updated instructions, also need to make a T hose, directions say 2 20" legs, one 10". No way 10" is close. It's more like 22. Had to go buy more tubing...
Took it out for a spin, no service Stabilitrak this time..... Odd. Headers are on order!
Mine had random Service Stabilitrak messages, but they haven't happened for a while now. No definite reasons why it would come on.
I would recommend changing heater hoses if not done yet, the plastic tee near the firewall can break easily. Word of warning, changing the heater hoses with the engine in the car is a royal pain, be forewarned.

So strange. The thinking on the V forums is electrical ground issues.
Ill try to take a look at the heater connections. Everything back there is no fun....
The back isn't the bad part, it is where the hoses run along side the engine. They are in the side of the frame rail with a steel plate bolted over them. Not much room to work on getting the bolts out.

I'm gonna farm it out..... Gravel driveway, no lift. Decided to spend the $ for someone else to deal with it.
Spark plugs kinda sucked enough!
Headers are on. Shop had fun... Won't mate to the factory exhaust. Gonna be a loud drive home
They broke the starter in the process. Main lug into plastic.... But I have a new one now.

What shop did you use?
In reply to iansane :
I'll pm you.
Just picked it up and oh my god it sounds glorious. Open headers make me want to keep them
berkeley me sideways... messing around with HP tuners, ignition on for a while, close the door and apparently the battery is dead.... And my only key is in the cup holder.... Luckily with the battery dead, it did not roll the window back up on closing, which gave me a little working room.
One hanger wasn't stiff enough, two taped together, with a stir stick, and another wire to pull backwards won...
Plug boots getting a little melty already 😳
Get a new battery. Most modern cars hate having a battery that isn't up to snuff. You can get all sorts of weirdness.
In reply to Enchanter :
Yeah not a bad plan, key will stay in my pocket from now on....
In reply to Harvey :
Battery was replaced yesterday! I am hoping that was part of the "weirdness" that was going on.
So much better! Loud when your on the loud pedal, quiet ish when at low throttle cruising. 3" to 2.5" before the muffler.
And the codes. Secondary cats are coded out and not installed. Could that be pissing things off?
Lip went on. Got rid of the broken factory one.
Exhaust.
And ceramic 45 degree plus wires. 3 of 8 installed 🤣
Hahaha you aren't kidding on the mid-life crisis. Still get a little giggle when I see the camper rig in your driveway. Retired last month so I don't get up that way very often now.
I've been on the lookout for a 98-02 LS1 for a swap into my vanagon. That I think would classify as a late mid-life crisis on it's own.
I think the angular shape of the CTS-V have grown on me over the years.
