I have a generic ricer special hot air intake laying around if it would help you.
Perhaps. Duster also has a filter. If it has clamps and rubber and a decent filter, it may be of use to me. I have $0 to spend now, so I can't buy either one. I do have a bunch of random 2 1/4" truck exhaust bits which I will try to employ though.
I was thinking $free.99 for mine. It was in a bin of random stuff I got at the swap meet a few years back. I'll dig it out and make sure I have all the bits. What size is your throttle body OD?
The throttle body has a 2 1/2" OD and I was going to try to use 2 1/4" tubing. If you have anything in that range it would be perfect.
Thanks!!
Spent some more time cleaning and figuring out where the intake will go. I have some ideas behind the bumper which should work out fine.
The intake I have looks something like this: But with out the name brand. The filter was nasty so I chucked it a long time ago. It's 3" (I think) in diameter. I don't have a reducer to fit your throttle body.
You are welcome to it, let me know if you want it.
Ah, well if it's all 3" and there is no filter, it's definitely not of any use.
Thanks for checking, though, I appreciate it.
Sorry, I forgot I had tossed the filter...I use the term loosely, I'm not sure how much filtering it would have done.
I have a Foxbody filter box and intake tube with a K&N panel filter taking up space in my garage. I think the tube is in the 2.5 to 3 inch range. $0.00 if you are interested.

I can't use the box or panel filter, but maybe the tube. Take a pic of what it looks like. Thanks!

Here you go. I know that you said that you were not interested in the air box, but I linked a few photos of it just in case it might prove useful.

Hey! So I had no idea who you were until I saw your name on the Google+ account. For those reading, this is Bud #1 from the story on how I came to get this car. I still owe his family dinner for helping me get this jewel home.
Anyway, I suspect I can use a lot of that tubing and clamps. You can bring it by when you're eating with us. We still need to arrange that.
Thanks!
Trip to the scrap metal place netted $61, mostly due to the old, clogged, rusty converter. New Challenge budget as follows:
$689.99
New "real" (including tools and drinks and such) budget
$788.80
Sweet.
Did you get the rest of the stuff buttoned up on this? I know tags and insurance are a ways off, but is it otherwise ready for the prime time?
Happy father's day.

I need to build an exhaust system and an intake tube. Hopefully you connected with Luke for the cone filter you had this weekend.
Thanks! Happy Fathers Day to you too!
No, wound up working late Friday so we couldn't get together.
And im on call this week, so I can't leave the county.
All your stuff is in the trunk though. I just need to break down and take off down to Greenville for part of a day.
Yeah unfortunately the only place we could meet would have added a LOT of time to my travel. (485 is a nightmare from 5 until 6 pm).
I'll be back in Charlotte with more time in July. weekend of the 4th that is. So I'll break off at some point and swing by Duster.
Yup, I just went to verify the dimensions, I think the 1998 OEM filter for a GM truck will work splendidly. Amazon has it for $19.
You'll need to log in to post.
