Mitsubishi Paris-Dakar special likely
Shaved firewall. The whole truck is going to a pro resto shop for nice body work but I did preliminary body and eyeball colormatch paint to keep it presentable in the meantime. All non essential holes are shaved as are the original inner fenders. When it gets final body, I'll shave the hinge mount holes and stuff above the seam. The oem crumple zone horns are getting steel plates welded in and theyll seve as mounting locations for the removable tube structure via tapped holes.
The radiators will likely be mounted behing the cab on each side (unless I find some design reason not to do it this way). With plain, colormatched number plates covering subtle ducting to feed them. Picture something like this only monochrome with the numberplates sticking out enough to act as scoops.
However I'm quite fond of the borbet cws that are on the grey truck. I bought them from an ad in the "want advertiser" when I was in highschool. I'll get another pair so the trailer has matching wheels.
At least until I make it big and can afford six te37 offroads in bronze
Fiberworx fits great if you just duct tape it on!
When you do the cab stretch are you going to look for a donor Xtra cab or are you just going to add material?
I have been thinking of stretching my Xtra cab just for more room too.

It's not getting that kind of extension, it's getting some area behind the seats for a sub and a small storage area. Picture an additional area the size of a box for a single 10" sub behind each seat. One will contain a sub, the other will be for extra storage.
thsts more flexible than a college freshman gymnast.
holy crap.
how does it actually drive with no swaybars though? id assume with that much travel, and spring rate light enough to use it well, it would feel like its going to roll over on the street at 35. but I know jack E36 M3 about the world youre building in. so if I'm wrong, please explain why!
Roll and roll over are different things. Also, Fairly stiff spring rates will help. Gonna do 500lbs front and either 450 or 500 rear. Easy to change with this setup. https://youtu.be/0BXWhDh6EJ0

True, but I have questions, none the less. Is 4 wheel drive going to be retained? What diffs to stand up to turbocharged LS power? Have you taken it off any sweet jumps?
If going IRS you might want to go ahead and go with a Ford 9" irs set up if you want strength. look at the Currie F9 stuff. Here is a vid of a rock bouncer that uses the currie ifs/irs ford 9's 600hp+ hp, 40inch tires, no mechanical sympathy whatsoever and survives.

either ford 9 inch irs/ifs or dana 60 ifs/irs will stand up to that power.

Yes 4wd will be retained using t100 axles and an oem front diff driven by a r151f transmission with malin crawler internals. Mkiii supra relative. At least that's the plan. We'll see how it holds up. It's not going to run huge or sticky rubber, and I'm a firm believer that traction braeks stuff. 1000hp and pizza cutters is easier on driveline than 350 and slicks. If it breaks something, I'll upgrade it till it holds together.
The rear diff is going to be mkiii turbo supra. They seem to handle the power those guys are making just fine. Again, we'll see
As far as jumps go, I've gotten more air in this little truck than I should have, but nothing compared to what's coming
Anything like this is going to be a development project. It's going to take some time to sort out what will withstand the abuse and what won't. Just the nature of the beast.
