You could fabricobble some swangas and go for the high score of downed cones in the Challenge autocross.

No no no. Powerwash, fix the electrical melting, then drive around like a maniac while wearing a Boss Hogg hat/white suit.

I'm pretty sure step 1 to that plan is 'have the local sheriff in your pocket'
I'm asking: Is this thing the logical alternative to all the GRM Kool Kids in their fancy $50 Q45's?....the $150 Caddy Crew.
In reply to Agent98 :
The Q45 is RWD and probably lighter than this FWD floaty barge. I think the VH45 also makes more power than this Northstar. Their transmission probably also has way better gearing for a performance driving situation of any type too. So this Caddy really isn't the logical choice for anything these days. I have seen a couple guys build fairly fast turbo LS4 cars with this transmission though so there is that I guess.

About the only thing the Q45 has going for it is the fact that it's RWD. Well, the suspension is surely more capable, but that's nothing some stiffer springs couldn't fix.

Most recent shot I have of it. Aborted 350/700r4 swap. I've had lots of dumb ideas for it but haven't touched it in years.
So, if caddy isn't a turd, bolt pattern is 5x115 which is the same as chargers and challengers. Also 5x114.3 wheels are close enough that the lugs don't care about that .7mm and that is how we ran 17x8 bullitt mustang wheels on the buick rendezvous.
Need to build the XJ for the Challenge. 4.0 with a 2wd AW4 transmission, spring under swap in the rear with an Explorer disc brake 8.8 with LSD. Cheap used set of non-progressive lift springs in the front cut down as lowering springs. If you want some more power, then DIY a turbo or Eaton blower on it or just throw a 75-shot of nitrous at it. The 2dr XJ's will always have a special place in my heart, wish I still had both of the ones I used to have.

I went out of my way to buy a copy of the issue of GRM this was one was in. I think I want a V8 if I build my own.
In reply to Daylan C :
You're welcome.
PS- I'll be posting more Dodge truck photos soon. [/questionable influence]
So I realized I grossly misrepresented the condition of this interior. I think a simple wipe down, dumping of all the ash trays and an air freshener bomb will fix this.
Also it has a misfire from hell now. Going to pull a couple spark plugs to inspect them.
Found why it didn't want to take throttle. This vent tube wasn't pushed in all the way. I think all this motor needs is a good service.

I can smell the stale pall malls and mold from here.
My aunt smokes Marlboro reds, but yes, this is accurate.
I'm going to check out a DTS at auction this weekend. Maybe I can join your club. Probably not, but maybe.

DTS is a handsome car, much nicer way to join this club than my abandoned Deville.
