I know that CL-S will handle a 75-shot of nitrous. Guy I used to know bought one of those cars back when they were new and put nitrous on it.

Seriously, find a v8 Lincoln LS and we'll throw 125 at it. From what i can tell, if it can hook, 13's are touchable. At the challenge 13's get you high up in drags. I mean, hopefully it'll be 3 seconds slower than me but it should do well. Drag radials on back for both events
Lincoln Mark VIII has an odd lug pattern. Same as fwd Taurus of the same era.
Plan for adapters to fit your current stock.

The CL-S would bring back good memories. The first car I ever purchased on my own was a 1999 Acura TL. Towards the end of my ownership I debated having the CL-S 6 speed engine and transmission swap.
Edit: I bid $550 ends Monday. Bid $550 I'd have to pay $850.
.
In other news after not being started for over a year the Q45 roared to life with some new gas and a charge to the battery. That opens up some options.
Ok bring that here and we nitrous it. Does it have limited slip diff? I have an airbed that Calvin slept on, maybe some of his speed is left on it and will transfer to you.
In reply to Patrick:
Yes, it has LSD. Yes, it is leaking power steering fluid everywhere like every 90's luxury boat I've owned. Yes, I have fender flares and large tires. Yes, lots of room in the budget to make it look ugly.
Edit: New Concept art since I took out the rear windows already in hopes to cut the back off but don't think I have time for that anymore.
Are you limited to a certain number of drag passes at The Challenge? If not, get a few solid passes in with a 75-shot then step it up to a 150+ shot and see if it'll hold together. If it holds then you'll place even better in the drag portion but if it lets go, then no big loss and everybody loves to see some carnage.

You won't believe me but today I saw a white Q45t with clear vinyl for the back window. Q45 owners think alike.
I was just going to use sheetmetal from an old icebox I was planning on putting out by the curb to cover the window holes. Pop rivets for style points.
In reply to Andy Neuman:
Must have been a very intelligent guy. You know it's just the rear. Run vinyl.

I'm not ready to create any roll structure to help reduce the lack of stiffness chopping the roof would create.
More free scrap, actually quite expensive free scrap but "free." A little hard to clean up because of the insulation.
In reply to John Welsh :
John if you don't bring a car this year do you want to be in charge of being my team spokesman for the concourse?
Stampie wrote: In reply to John Welsh : 12 pack of your choice if you take a dive.
I'd tank myself for that offer.
I'll just stand there and say, "I woke up one day and this is what the car looked like. I'm pretty sure they call this a door handle and this over here is a wheel?"
Actually, I am more likely to be swayed on judging day by whoever brings me a sub from that great sandwich shop.
John, do you hire out to handle Judging? The year the handed us the microphone, I would have gladly paid someone else to do it. It's like they don't know I'm in my garage A Lot, and can go for days without talking.
P.S. It would be funny if you did it for a stack of cars. They let us use "Pro" drivers, I assume "Pro" spokesman would be legit.
Id sighn up for john to be a pro spokesman. Hes won concourse before. I just hack E36 M3 together and talk to people who talk to trees.
In my first year with Q45 #1, I knew I was going to be running an untested car. If you were going to bring only one other person with you you'd might think to bring someone with mechanical abilities.
Instead I brought someone with quite possibly less than zero mechanical ability but with professional actual radio station DJ experience.
