To clarify, my ULTIMATE dream car (like most) would have been a blue with white stripe 96/97 GTS, however those are so incredibly expensive, they are far out of my price range. But i have always loved the Final editions as well.

The final edition viper gts were the last 360 gen 2 vipers to roll off the assembly line. They were all dressed with the red/white stripe combo to commemorate the vipers victory at daytona 24. i believe there were only like a dozen of them that were ACRs, this one is not.  those bring incredible money. This particular Viper is number 227 of 360 and has 40k miles, and is twin turbo... One reason i also really liked this one. its sitting on some SSR wheels and has a few minor upgrades throughout the car. The car is conservatively tuned and makes 650whp. which is approaching the limit of these "creampuff motors." all motors 99-02 were no longer forged like earlier models.

I have wanted one of these since i was 10, and its hard to believe that i finally own one now. the hardest part is waiting for the car to arrive. The car is on Maui in Hawaii and it will be about 5 weeks before it gets here. I have a hard enough time waiting 24 hours for an amazon shipment so this is going to be a challenge lol. but anyway, you can see the car below!

That's awesome & I agree a blue one w/white stripes was my dream car for years. Fortunately I've never even ridden in a Viper, so it's much easier to pretend they don't exist. :-)

Yea, its not as easy as a mainland purchase. but we got it for a really good deal due to it being in Hawaii.

Also my wife and i drove a 3rd gen a year or so ago that was really cheap and i considered it, but we didnt agree on price. but the 10 minutes or so i drove it i immediately knew, yep, im going to buy one of these one day.

I have had a diecast Viper GTS on the shelf for idk how long. lol

Nice. That's a hell of a car. I had no idea SSR even made a six lug wheel. They look great. This thing should be a blast to drive.

Thanks everyone. yea the kit was made by a shop in austin Tx, and then tuned by Calvo.

SSR is one of the hand ful of companies that even make a wheel for the viper. some guys will actually 5 lug swap their vipers for that reason. im looking to get a drag wheel set up for it and your options are ccw classics. and thats it lol. i know HRE makes wheels for them which i think are hideous. but the SSR look really nice imo.

for drag wheels I'm sure there are a fair few racing wheel guys who will just make custom ones. Especially on a 3 piece or something where you just need the center drilled differently.

yea, i know holeshot which is in florida will mkae some. A friend was inquiring about 15 inch wheels but the barrel will not clear the rear calipers. this is mainly why most guys run 16s. ccw makes a 15 that will clear, however, they are 1600 bucks....PER WHEEL...

Thanks all! I will put a disclaimer, this one has a rebuilt title due to an accident which damaged the hood. For those unaware, the hood and fender on these cars are one peice, and north of 20k to replace. Back 5-7 years ago when these cars were in there bottom out value point, that would total one easily.

However vipers are one of the few cars people will still pay good money for, even with a rebuilt title. I took a gamble as this is a special edition as well as its twin turbo.

I did not. It was weeks worth of live video calls, hogh res pics and videos etc. He offered to host us but i couldnt do that work wise.

Shipping is pretty easy. It ships via pasha boat over to long beach. Then enclosed trailer to my house. Company we used is coastal auto shipping. It was 3820 shipped to orlando florida.

I'll never NOT like a GRM'er getting a Viper post. Congrats on buying your dream car! Hope everything turns out ok with the shipping.

Congrats!!! I have always loved the 1st gen gts/acr cars. I cant even imagine the suspense waiting for it to arrive though. I literally went on a 5 min rant today because USPS didn't get me my hiem joint today after ordering Sunday. Lol.

Also is the hood repaired/repairable? I would think a reputable Vette body shop could repair just about any damage.

Yea im crossing off days on a calendar like a kid waiting for christmas. I believe a good body shop could repair it, this one was replaced, its not very heavy and i know it must be a composite/fiberglass hood. i bet most replace them due to fear of body lines not being right etc. but if the insurance totals it and you buy it back and have the money you could afford to replace it lol.
