I bought a Limited slip differential for my MGB this offseason, the install was easy however when we got the spec sheet it said to break in the differential to do 50 miles of light driving. My problem is this is a non street legal E modified Solo Car. What do other people do to to break in limited slip differentials on cars that you cant just go for a Sunday drive in without getting pulled over? I saw Kaaz units suggest something like 20 figure 8's, would this plus some skidpad time and a fluid change maybe keep me from destroying my clutches right out of the gate?

Well I am no expert, but it seems just normal driving wouldn't do much for the LSD. But like you mentioned, driving in a figure 8 would cause some LSD slipping, that you could do in a parking lot on a Sunday, if you can find a parking lot empty.

I broke in my clutch LSD (Kaaz) per the instructions, 20 minutes of figure eights, coasting through the cornering, applying power only on the "straights." If you gas it through the turn, the plates can lock up and you don't get the slippage needed for break-in. I did it in the parking lot at work after hours, and it worked just dandy.
