I think the wing is a little too much. If it's functional, then I guess that should trump looks, but it looks bigger than the rest of the car, IMO. Kinda takes away from the simplicity of the body lines. But again, it's your car, not mine, so carry on as you wish.
i know. i did the red bumpers to fit better with the wing, and now the wing looks out of place, so im like......E36 M3.
and now the trans is going, so im just a mental ball of poop. This is why I have a Fiesta ST to Daily Drive. Sometimes I wish i put the funds into that car, but the Summit is too much fun.

Keep it up, this thing is sweet!
It's growing on me slowly....

That shot makes the whole car look appealing.
Maybe it's just me, but the wing is just too boxy for the rounded body. Amazeballs build though! Makes me want to put an evo4 set up in my protege.

I like the wing. Just enough fast and furious
+1 on the wing. functional yet ridiculous, can be used to bait people into having their doors blown off...i like the build been following for a while.
Very clean build, enjoy the car and ignore everyone who doesn't like it.
Awesome build! Wasn't sure on the wing until that last picture
-i removed the black section. apparently that sent it soaring into 22b territory.
-the car NEEDS an aggressive hood and EVO II front end or something to balance it out. that's what is bothering me.
-wing should work for baiting quite well hahah.

Have you thought about re-adding grey to the bumper only on the "fat ridge" surrounding the license plate? If that's plastic color, you could just sand down to make it happen and I think it'll make it more striking and less bodacious.
Mockup:
OH. MY. GAWD.
OMG. DUUUUUUUUDE. that's it. omg.

Glad to help! Post pics when you're done!
That's exactly how I did mine. I tied in the dark color by doing the sills and front lip in the same color. It helped because I also ran the stock front bumper except that it was cut up for the FMIC. I had dreams of using some GRM techniques to graft a '95 2G DSM bumper lower section to the Mirage upper. They do fit together surprisingly well.

Crazy me is also curious how the front would look if the bumper was cut at the ridge line (remove the teeth/jowel but leave the upper angry lip). That'd be very aggressive but very irreversible.
Lol not gonna cut the front anymore. Its good.
I always preferred the grey bumpers, but i think the rear will look better with the grey stripe. The front could use a lil grey, OR a grm lip riveted on :)
Wing is off for now. I think when i go 2" flares and evo front and racecar it out the wing will return. Right now the front end is TOO TAME for it. Noooo, sh-she wasnt readyyyyy. Lol.
So...front lips?

I would leave the front bumper but maybe add a small splitter, nothing crazy with struts or anything but a little something to look a little different. The gray on the rear finishes it off nicely.
This project rules! It definitely makes me want to try something similar someday, I've been reading up a ton on DSM projects.
I would do a splitter, but there is literally NO underside of the bumper.
That EI RS riveted lip looks boss. Thats what i like. Very industrial. Look at that caged gutted interior...omg ughhh yessss
i took it out tonite....4th is completely gone. still pulls like an banshee in 1-3,5th! LOL

Yea it could definitely use a more aggressive front. That's sort of the same boat I'm in with my e46. Base bumper didn't look bad until I put the staggered 18"s on... now it looks a bit timid from the front. UPGRADE!!!!!
This is the front bumper I was going to cut and graft together with my Mirage bumper. The lines fit with the rounded body of the coupe, they're cheap, & it had room for my FMIC.
Is the Focus ST in any way a grown up version of the Mirage? I have two kids now and no room for a dedicated fun car.
