Only if you ride it in a pit or put a pit on the seat.
I took the evening to color sand, polish and wax the side covers.

All done!
Well, the build is back over the $1k mark. My front brake master cylinder started weeping on my ride to work last week, and progressed to a full on drip as the bike was parked. The master on the bike was not the original Honda part, and with the braided hose upgrade the feel was very hard and I had no brake light with the front brake.
For these reasons, and because I wasn't sure what the old master was off of to order a rebuild kit I decided to upgrade. After a bit of research I decided to go with a one off of a VFR600 which gave me a slightly smaller diameter piston for better feel, a brake light switch, and the same fittings as the old one.
I found one on eBay, and it arrived this weekend. I bench bled it, then mounting it to a dowel and held it lower than the caliper to bleed it. No in-progress pictures....sorry.
Old total: $998.89
Master cylinder: $42.65
New total: $1,041.54
Also this arrived.
A red-headed kid in shark pajamas? He looks like he arrived a few years ago.
How is the wind noise on that HJC lid? They are on sale right now and my lid smells terrible and the interior is in tatters.

He's a 2007 model.
I like the HJC. It's not super quiet, but it's better than my circa 1990 Shoei...better ventilation too. It's one of the cheapest snell rated lids too.
I was invited to go on a group ride on Sunday, so I am trying to finish the flyscreen up. I did some sanding and filling, and got it in primer last night.
I made some good progress on the bike and the $50 SAAB over the past few days. The Midlana has been being neglected...
The fly screen is painted and mounted on the 750. It took about 4 hours of sanding and bodywork to get it how I wanted, but other than needing the orange peel sanded out it turned out great.
For some reason a second fly screen showed up from the seller in Greece a few weeks ago. The second one had a much better finish than the first, but I was almost finished smoothing out the original so I finished it.
No response back from the seller on what they want me to do with the extra...anybody need a fly screen?
In reply to singleslammer:
I don't see why not, it looks like the Hawk has a standard 7" headlight. You might need to make some simple brackets if the bolt indents in the fly screen don't line up with the headlight ear holes (I did on mine). I just took some 1" flat stock, drilled it to fit the headlight bolts and the bolts on the fly screen, then welded a nut to it for the fly screen bolts to thread into.
They sell for $60 to $100 shipped on ebay. GRM Price: $50 shipped.
I've seen similar on dirt bikes, but that headlight looks smaller than the standard 7" Street bike sealed beam.
My coworker rides dirt bikes down in your neck of the woods, you ever run into a Jim Perry?
Standard sized light, just looks small on such a dirtbike. I don't think that style would look good on it after further review, but I might do something similar down the road.
The tail light is pretty huge on that thing, it would be my next item to address. But the look is great and the price is awesome!
I entered the Honda in the local car show. Kind of amusing parking a $800 motorcycle next to a Ford GT and an original (signed by Mr. Shelby) AC Cobra with a SOHC 427.
