Had a 1976 Capri 4 cyl - slowest thing on the planet, but a nice cruiser. My brother had a 1977, same color as yours with a sunroof. One night, we jumped his over a country bridge, had to snip off the dipstick with tin snips to get it to seat after that.Only held about 3 quarts, oil pan looked like an accordion, but the pan seal never leaked one drop. His 2.3 drank a quart every 50 miles !!! yet idled smoothly. New years eve he got T boned, I cut off a passenger quarter panel at the junkyard, (silver) bolted on a door (lime green) then pop riveted the new quarter over top the bashed in old one. The new quarter fit perfectly into the crater. The striker lined up! New passenger door closed like a BMW.

point is: what great cars they were only lacking the proper engine. Seems that you are about to fix that. The Capri II was a great car (vastly improved interior materials, better fit/finish, less rusty) -much more than the Capri I but pretty much unknown today.

Good times.

Can't wait to see yours powering down the 1/4 or wherever you decide to run it. Cheers.

For us non-facebook users, can you post a little more info here? Which ecoboost engine are you using? Is it a crate engine or a swap from another car? What are you doing for ECU/controls?

I see the title and get excited because I like both Crapi's and EcoBoost/Duratec motors.

Then all the air gets let out of my tires by the link to Facebook....

Keeping the Atlas rear axle or doing something else there?

Very tidy work.

Ford sells the V6 as a crate engine, they also sell the electronics to go with it. https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6000-35TK

THANKS Java. Sorry. I don't get on here much.

To answer a few questions:

The Engine is from a 2013 Ford F150. 34k original miles. The ECU is a ford performance control pack. Works very well as others have used it.

The oil pan needed to be heavily modified for the engine to drop low enough to fit under the stock hood. So much so, the oil pump pickup needed to be relocated to the outside of the pan. The pictures you see above are the pan of a guy who dropped a 3.7 engine in a Capri in Australia (non turbo).

I will not be keeping the Atlas rear, but it may live under the car for a time. I have a Currie built 8" rear. pleanty stout for the 400HP Ecoboost.

The first shot is my stock 2.3L Capri. It is not the car I will be dropping the car into. I have two 76 Copper metallic Capris...The color just seems to find me.
