I found a Krylon Rust Tough tintable base from Lowes. I'm hoping it's a similar enough paint and hoping I can get that color. It sucks that Ace still has all the other colors but not the one I need.
Man, it seems like I've been spending a lot of time on the forum lately catching up on old threads only to find they only got updated because they were sold.
I like going through your threads because I have the same vintage Husky tool set I bought new when I was 12. Although I frequently lament how much of said set is now missing 30+ years later.
That "wide one" van gave me flashbacks to when I was working in the restoration shop. The shop owner rented a normal white van to pickup something across the country. On the way back he hit a deer bending the bumper and smashing that filler panel under the headlight and didn't have the walk-away insurance for it. So he extended the rental and we fixed the bent stuff and resprayed it before returning it without them ever knowing. I thank you for reminding me of that story.

My local Ace has it still!
maybe check a reasonable area. I am planning to go there on my lunch and pick up a gallon. I'm not sure about shipping paint, otherwise I'd offer that.

Great story!
Those Husky tools are one of the few things I have to show for quite a bit of credit card debt when I was younger.

That set is the result of my first paid solo engine R&R with the aforementioned shop owners tools, so it's safe to say they have a high sentimental value. Someday I hope to fill in the missing pieces via eBay.
