Might have located a new engine for the lotus, its pretty high mileage though. Would y'all be concerned with that given I'm going to have it completely built anyway? Planning on at least popping the spark plugs out and looking down there with a boroscope

Not sure what I'm gonna do with the F600, don't really have the time or money right now to do a full season of road  racing. Thinking of selling/trading it for a 2 stroke F600 set up for autocross, since I could make that work with my life easier

I get the thought, but I would lean towards keeping the beast you know.  Part of it is that I havent ever really seen anyone make a real effort with a bike powered car nationally to see how it would stack up.  From what I have gathered, if you take the time to try it to quantify the gap, you wouldnt have too hard a time petitioning for some rules concessions on the Solo side to make it faster to close the gap.  Then again, I am one of those nutters trying to keep their car able to go both ways (Solo/RR), so I get it if its too compromized for you.

I'm at an inflection point myself. I need to decide what my plans are for next year. It boils down to, I am either doing drivers school and striking down the path of road racing, or I am doing Solo Nationals and kicking the roadrace can down the road some more. (I only have the time/$$ for one)  Considering I have autocrossed for 20 years now and never done nats, thats one thing, but I did some time trials events this year and I think I am hooked on the track. Right now I'm lining things up for drivers school.

As an aside, I was talking to Clint McMahan and there may be some interesting developments on setting up an alternative championship now that Runoffs is gone for us. Attractive to me, but probably not meaningful to you is the notion of considering the class split between the older 500cc snowmobile cars and the newer 600cc snowmobile and bike cars. For me, it at least makes me feel better on my plan of sticking with my car as it is (494 KBS mk7) vs converting to either a 593 or bike motor. At the end of the day, I think there are two hard factors for being competitive. The newer motors as well as a sportscar nose for drag reduction. I've had some eventual thoughts about making a sportscar nose for my MK7, but have bigger fish to fry (mostly just getting on track).

If time trials interests you as a medium ground, I ran with Pennsylvania Hillclimb. They do two track trials events and they were a blast for me. I was the first "F6" running the events, so I set a record that I would love to see others tilt at!

I'm leaning towards keeping it at this point, although I would probably fit better in a more upright car than the KBS. I've talked to Clint about that too, they McMahans aren't too far from me, Dan converted my car to MC before I got it lol. Definitely want to do a time trial and maybe a hill climb

working towards getting it ready for a lexan  windshield, the previous owner of the shell used a ton of silicone around the windshield to try to waterproof it. Poor guy didn't know that British cars are porous by nature, so it's pointless to try

hoping to save these stickers from the windshield, not sure how I'm going to go about that, though

That's the plan, also going to make a rear window, which should be easier than the front. Planning on leaving the sides for now as I like having functional windows

Looking forward to your results! I dislike the original windshield trim and want to do something different, not sure what at this point.

honestly, it doesn't look too bad with the trim removed. would probably be fine if you cleaned it up and maybe made the strip of adhesive more consistent

Got some spacers for the rear wheels, too bad they measure 4x104 instead of the 4x100 I ordered. Gotta do a return I guess

Supposed to be custom made in the US, guess the guy did his math wrong. I really need to get a real lathe and mill in my garage

gave my Kubota a rattle can restore. Plus I patched sheet metal for the first time, did a horrible job but I'm gonna blame it on the super thin metal combined with the harbor freight flux core welder.

I had some led headlight bulbs on my shelf that fit in the tractor.

guess they were actually taillight bulbs, either that or it's been possessed by a demon of some variety

Gixx,

I realized I never answered your question in my thread if I would cut the rear between the tail Lights out differently? I removed it in one piece and could be put back in one day, I like the look and will add some kind of mesh at some point. Banks Europa opened up theirs the same way so it must be good.
