Congrats!  That is an awesome color and a great find!

The wife and I looked at one before buying her minivan, it was just a bit too tight in the back for her justify it.

I was hoping we could have had 2 Ford AWD boost buggies in the family, but alas it wasn't to be (the Ford Explorer was a second choice, but similar issue with rear seating and grown ups)

Honestly, aside from a fullsize minivan (like a Pacifica Hybrid or an Odyssey) I can't think of anything else that could potentially be a replacement for a Mazda 5.

Have you looked on yeggi.com for things to 3D Print for the new rides?  I know there's a hitch cover and a replacement rear compartment latch, etc.

Not to start a flame war, but that’s a made up definition.  Google “Ford Flex”, and you will see the word “SUV” all over the place. 

Ford describes it as a “full sized crossover SUV”.

And every single one of the 20 or more station wagons my Dad owned over the course of 30+ years had a frame. What makes a unibody a station wagon??

It's a wagon because it's cool. Wagons that aren't cool automatically become SUVs. SUVs that are cool automatically become wagons.

It also ignores all of the two wheel drive SUVs, the full time four wheel drive SUVs, etc.

Congrats. Had two of these. Sporting isn't on the cards, but for a large capacity people and stuff hauler or even towing a camper it's perfect. Highly underrated vehicles.

The registration on our 1992 Bronco lists "SW" as the body style.  And it has a frame and a transfer case... 

Back to the Flex... that's a GREAT deal!  

I've always liked the Flex... great performance potential, comfortable, and cool.  Looking forward to following your experiences with it.

I figured it up and 72 miles in 2 years doesn't make me need to keep it. First person who came along and made an offer took it home

I'm installing downpipes, CAI, full exhaust and a tune on a 2019 Explorer this week.  It's supposed to add 100hp and 100ftlb.  I'll let you know how it goes.

The owner is going with the Livernios parts cannon.

I did just an Unleashed tune, no hardware, on my 2014 SHO, and the butt dyno difference was significant. There's a lot of potential in those engines.

We hunted for a long time to find a blue '13+ Flex Ecoboost with the pano roof and tow package as my wife's daily driver.  We have the fridge as well.  

Granted we bought it three year ago with 60K on it, but it's served well.  Hauled camper trailers all over Michigan.  Road tripped to Florida and back.  IKEA'd. etc. 

We're at 135K now on it, and only maintenance items of note I've had to tackle were brakes once, and rear wheel bearings which weren't terrible to do.   

Get the title/registration from the shady used car dealer?

It's financed through my credit union, and my loan officer is hounding them like sticky on rice. I'm not worried.

I'm hoping that it has tons of issues and you regret buying it. Why? To make me feel better about not buying one of course! I went to look at them when they first came out and was about to drop some serious coin on one (You could get them over $55K fully optioned) but the Ford dealers were all idiots and wouldn't call me back. I bought 3 other cars instead and wound up with a Kia Rondo in the mix. Like you in the 5, it was a great car but needed an upgrade after a while, so I looked at the Flex hard again on the used market. In the end, I decided that a minivan was the right choice for the family car/workhorse, so the Flex never got an at-bat. I still stare at them longingly.

And of course, I hope yours is trouble-free and amazing for another 100K miles!

Man, awesome buy. Jealous! I love the color - only I would have preferred the white roof, but for what you paid dude, you stole that thing. I've always liked those and almost bought one in 15 but came away with a GTI instead. Yeah, we cross shopped them.  My only beef is that while yes, they tow, I believe the limit was 3500lb.  That isn't much.

It's 4500. Enough for a lightweight car on an open trailer. Adrian towed his popup all over the place with an NA Flex.

buddy of mine has one like this...we call it the Spoolbus.  the way they make speed really sneaks up on you...just effortless.  i wish they caught on better, because they make such great sense as a big family hauler.
